I found the dress I wanted at macys. When I went with my BMs to Lynbrook Bridal they had my dress for cheaper than macys & it included alterations. I brought the price back to macys & they matched it. I don't know how much I saved b/c I haven't gone for alterations yet. Many stores will match another store's price to get the business--so if you like a shop but found a price cheaper see what your shop will do.

I didn't shop around . I fell in love with the dress I got and I loved the shop. Luckily, my dress was reasonably priced.

Yes and it saved me $$$$!!!

I shopped at RK, where they claim to beat any price and many friends had told me had the best prices around. I found a dress I loved there, but wanted to show my mom.

We went to Bridal Reflections in Carle Place, mostly b/c it was convenient. Even though they are generally pretty expensive (the first sales lady told me that their dresses started at about $2500) they had the same dress as RK and met the price I was given by RK.

My advice is to haggle -- but don't lie -- the people in the business know what the real price of the dress is. They won't sell it for less, but they don't have to mark it up either!

I didn't shop around because I work in a Bridal Salon, and I think I might be shot if I bought somewhere else...but keep in mind, if you have a budget, talk to your salespeople, they are there to help you, and it never hurts to ask for a lower price. Many times they can come down in the price a little, and then be helpful with discounts on other items like a headpeice.

I didn't call around, but I did visit different places. I found the dress and then looked for where I could get the best price. I ended up ordering it from Paradise Bridal bc I saw them at a show and they gave me a 15% discount. Couldn't really negotiate any more than that.

I didn't call around, and try for a lower price. I'm an OOT bride trying to buy a house, plan a wedding , and look for a new job. There time and energy spent doing all that wasn't worth it to me. I'll a littlel extra for great service and a convenient location.

My sister shopped around and ended up getting a better price at Charmet in Bayside. They included her alterations as well as matched the price of Estelle's to include tax.

Also, if you are ordering your BM dresses from the same shop, use that as a bargaining tool

I didn't call around, but I had looked at a few other places first and then i went to Burton's to see how much they would be there. In the end I picked a dress I found at Burtons. I already knew they had a great price and I wanted to get my dress there from the beginning so I didn't bother looking to see if my dress was less anywhere else.

I actually had to go into other stores and see. It ended up saying me about $800!!!

I saw my dress in Chicago (wear I live), but I thought about getting it in NY. So I went to Klienfields and they had the same dress, but wanted about $400 more than what my store was selling it for. So I told the lady and they were willing to match BOTH the Chicago's store price and alteration if I decided to get the dress from them in 2 days (I was in NY for the weekend).

Well, then I went to Lestans to check of BM dresses and being the person that I am I checked to see if they had the dress. I didn't expect them too because they are not listed in the designer's website as a retailer, but they had it! Guess what! they had it for $400 less than what my Chicago store had it for.

So I called my Chicago store and they were willing to match Lestans price. So now this would have saved me $400. However, the dress I was looking at was the evening gown version, and my MOM and BM convinced me to go with the Bridal gown version. The bridal gown version cost about $800 more than the original price of the evening gown version. It wasn't the $$ I was concerned about, rather I thought the evening gown version was too busy (too many beads, etc). But my Mom said that how's a wedding dress is supposed to look.Well, my bridal consultant at the store said that since I went through all that work they will give me the wedding gown version for the bridal gown price!!! That's how I saved $800 dollars.

No, I didn't shop around at all. I went to a few places, and I fell in love with one dress. They wouldn't tell me who the designer was, and I looked online for it but couldnt find it. I figured since I loved it I should just buy it .

I hated the stores that would rip out the tags and such. I think that is ridiculous!
