Just curious to know if anyone had any younger adults at their bridal shower....
My cousin is 11 years old and is a Jr. BM. MOH just asked if it's okay for her to come to the Bridal Shower, and I said okay - since she's in the bridal party, if it anything gets too graunchy - we can plop her booty somewhere else.

Re: Poll: Bridal Shower & Children?
There were some kids, but since my shower was in my MIL's house, the kids were hanging out in another room playing video games.

Re: Poll: Bridal Shower & Children?
The only possible children at my bridal shower would be my flower girls. At this moment I have one official FG (age 9), and one unofficial FG (age 7+ months - if she is walking by October she will be FG, but since she isn't even crawling yet, I doubt she'll be walking). Both their mothers are in my BP. Mother of 9 year old lives OOT. If (and this is a big if) she makes it to a shower, FG will probably come with her (unless MOH schedules it for weekend where FG is with her dad). MOH is mother of infant. Since my BIL is useless when it comes to watching his daughter for more than 15 minutes, I'm sure she'll be there.

We had one 9 year old girl; I'm sure she was bored, but she was quiet.

the youngest that MIGHT be there is my 14 yr. old niece, but i'd prefer she not...only cause i know she'll be bored.

Re: Poll: Bridal Shower & Children?
All of our nieces and little cousins were there. I love looking at the pics of them throughout the party - playing games and helping me with the wrapping paper.
Since the whole family was there nothing got raunchy anyway.

Re: Poll: Bridal Shower & Children?
i think having kids there would be great. All my aunts and FH's aunts and cousins and Gmas are all planning to attend, so i think kids are more than welcome. If anything, you can give your bridesmaids a heads up that kids will be there if they are planning anything... questionable... and then they can save it til the bachelorette party!

I agree. FMMIL & my MOm will be there so I would not want it to get raunchy , that's what the Bachelorette Party is for.
ETA: My Grandma will be there too.

Some of my friends might bring their babies, and my FSIl will probably bring my future niece...but I haven't had my shower yet so I'm not sure!

Re: Poll: Bridal Shower & Children?
at mine...no...we don't have any cousins or family that are in that age group.
but I remember being about 14 or 15 and being invited to family showers. I was so glad to be included.

Re: Poll: Bridal Shower & Children?
We had two children, my 7 year old flowergirl who flew to NY as a surprise and an uninvited 3 year old daughter of a guest.
I can't tell you how much the 3-year olds behavior disrupted the shower.
I think as long as the childeren are well behaved, it was nice to have them help opening the gifts and stuff. But beware of the attention getting ones...

Kids in my family always come to the bridal shower. Mostly the girls of course, unless the boys are very young.

Re: Poll: Bridal Shower & Children?
One of my BMs is 15, so she'll be there! And FH's daughter is 8 and a jrBM, she'll also be there. There might be a few more kids, I'm not worried, I don't plan on getting anything too raunchy.
I do remember when I was a kid and my aunt got married, someone gave her an apron with a penis on it. I remember being uncomfortable sitting there as she modeled it for everyone. So I know if I get anything like that I won't make a whole charade out of it and quickly move to the next gift. The last thing I want to do is give my future step-daughter any traumatic thoughts about me and her dad!!

Re: Poll: Bridal Shower & Children?
I have also been wondering what to do about children coming to the shower. I'm planning my best friend's surprise bridal shower and she has alot of young relatives. She basically wants it to be a surprise and doesn't want to be part of the planning which has me worry becuase I have heard stories of brides getting upset when all the small children start unwrapping their gifts as the bride is reading her card. Have any of you had this problem?
