They're for the bride to be.

Unless the shower was one of those thrown for the Bride AND GROOM, the gifts are part of the dowry the bride brings into her marriage - thus the money is yours - use it for wedding costs, buy something off your registry, or savings.

I think the gifts are for both of them. If I were to get cash at my shower, I'd spend it on some of the items on my registry that I didn't receive.

i agree. i mean yes, the shower is being thrown for the bride...but she wouldn't be GETTING a shower if she wasn't going to get married to a GROOM. and all the items at the shower that are bought---are for BOTH the &

every single item i get at the shower, i'm considering a gift for US...even money and gift cards. but FH and i share all our money anyway.

I would imagine that the bridal shower was originally for the bride 'cause the idea was that she would stay home and take care of the house (and the husband)...since I certainly don't believe in that, I don't believe that all the gifts are for me either...everything is for us to share...money went into savings for our new house and gifts were all meant to make our house a home...cheesy I know but you get the drift

totally agree with that one!

The Bridal Shower itself is for the bride, unless of course you're having a Jack & Jill Party.

However, I believe that all of the gifts given at the shower are intended to be used by BOTH the bride & groom in their new home. This goes for money and gift cards as well. JMO!!

Any $$ that we got from my shower went to purchase things off the registry that we didn't get.

unless the shower was for BRIDE AND GROOM, it's all yours .

i used it for the 'wedding' fund.

the money that came in the form of gc's, i'm using for stuff off my registry i didn't get

we took the money we got from the shower-about 500.00 approx and put it in the wedding fund,

gift cards were spent on items i did not get off of my registry, i had extra gift cards and I used the macys ones for honeymoon clothes for the two of us, and I still have extra, so I have been using them here and there

shower is for the bride, but there would be no shower without the groom-so technically i think the 'party' is for the bride, but in essence, for the both

I thought it was only for the bride, but I don't know anymore.
FH got his coffee maker at our e-party, so the rest of the stuff on our registries he wouldn't really notice. Even Home Depot, I registered there for us, I love power tools
