I love to eat, my biggest pastime. It seems as though every recent bride I have talked to did not get to eat on her day. I find this to be very disappointing.
I have to figure out a way to chow down.
I know people say you will be too excited or nervous, but I know myself, that cannot happen.

Re: Poll: Brides on your wedding day....
Well I def got to eat my main course and it was really good. Thank God for my Bridal Attendants I also got to eat the food from my cocktail our. Ten minutes before my cocktail hour was over they took me and hubby to our bridal suite where they had lobster, shrimp, sausage and all other stuff for us too eat. I really got to enjoy the food at my wedding.

Re: Poll: Brides on your wedding day....
I was too nervous/excited the morning of the wedding to eat too much, but I was able to eat a full dinner at the reception As for hors derves though - only 1 crab cake!!!
For those brides that drink - make sure you eat! The champagne went straight to my head before I ate!!!

Re: Poll: Brides on your wedding day....
I made sure I ate in the morning....very important. I woke up extra early to have my coffee & breakfast in piece.
I ate somewhat during cocktail and my main dish. I missed out on salad & pasta b/c I was running around dancing, talking to people, etc. I did take a bite from my cake and the halled packed some desserts for us to go...which we ate the following morning.
So, I think I did ok with the food stuff. hehehehhe

Re: Poll: Brides on your wedding day....
Here's what I ate: Cocktail hour: My DH made me a small plate of food that I ate before we went into the cokctail hour. I was just so scared I would drop food on myself that I didn't eat too much. I did pick on some shrimp cocktail in the bridal suite as well.
Reception: Didn't touch my intermezzo. Had a taste of the pasta. Ate a piece a cheese off the salad. But I ate my entree (just the fish not the potatos or veggies) and made sure of it. I was so looking forward to my sea bass with papaya mango salsa and it ws terrific!
Cake and Viennesse (sp?) - I had the bite of cake DH feed me during cake cutting ceremony. I had a mini cannoli and a couple Baileys shots in little chocolate cups (my favorite).
I so wish I got to eat more. If anyone getting married at the NRC wants to invite me to their wedding, I'm up for it!
Edited to say: before the wedding I had a few slices of ham my mom had on a cold cut platter - that's it and some mimosas. I was just busy and having fun with my friends and family - but I usually don't eat breakfast and always eat lunch late...so it didn't bother me.

Re: Poll: Brides on your wedding day....
I had a bagel in the morning but not much else that day. We danced and danced and danced instead. Although we wished we had eaten I wouldn't want to miss a dance with my hubby for food. JMO. But if they hadn't played one of our favorite songs just as we were going to eat, then we would have sat down and eaten.

Its true you get so busy that you have no time to eat.First the makeup lady did my make-up,then I got my hair done. Then I had to get dressed. Then the photographer started. When the photographer finished, the limo pulled up and out we went.I finally had to grab something at the cocktail hour before I passed out.

Re: Poll: Brides on your wedding day....
I am getting milkshakes from Haagen-Daaz for lunch the day of my wedding (for myself and any of my BMs who want). Ridiculous, I know, but one of my most fave foods! Plus, I need to eat every couple of hours or I start to feel ill.
I am trying to talk FH into spending a part of our cocktail hour in the bridal suite for a big snack, but he's iffy about that...

Re: Poll: Brides on your wedding day....
I plan on chowing down and if you are having a bridal assistant the day of the wedding tell her to make sure you eat also. I'll faint if I don't eat besides being blind drunk.

I'll probably be too nervous from all the excitement to want to eat but I will definitely try to.

Re: Poll: Brides on your wedding day....
I will eat breakfast & my reception hall will set up where all the food that is served in my cocktail hour will be served in my bridal suite. I chose not to go to the cocktail hour so my FH, bridal party & i can sit together, relax a bit and stuff our faces before the reception where we may not get to eat

Re: Poll: Brides on your wedding day....
Not sure about breakfast for me w/such an early ceremony (10 am) although I'll TRY to stuff a croissant in my mouth at the hotel But during cocktail hour we will be in the Bridal Suite, so I'll be able to stuff my face in privacy. And that way, If I dont really eat during the reception, it won't be so bad. Plus I'll take a plate with me for dinner later
