I can either get a flowergirl basket with pink fabric and white pearls on it or get a kissing ball with pink flowers. which should i get? Sorry no pictures.
I LOVE KISSING BALLS... and I plan on doing it... but let me warn you EVERY FLORIST WILL TRY TO TALK YOU OUT OF IT!
They are just worried that all the flowers will break and fall out b/4 the ceremony even starts... B/C it needs to be hanging... it cannot be put down or swung around by a little girl b/c they are very fragile.

Re: Poll: Flowergirl Basket or kissing ball?
All the florists we've spoken to advised against the Kissing Ball for such young girls (under 7) - b/c it's heavier and b/c it can be used as a weapon.
That being said, we're giving our Jr. BM (who's 10) one and giving the Flower Girls baskets.

Re: Poll: Flowergirl Basket or kissing ball?
just a tip - my sister had a june wedding and it rained in the morning. it was humid all day, and the kissing balls fell apart. we called the florist and they said since it was humid, the foam they use gets wet.
I am not going to use them bc of this, and im sure the girls did not help the matter bc they were swinging them around.

My flower girl was 7, i considered the kissing ball, but got the basket instead adn i loved watching her through the petals on the floor, she enjoyed it so much (she felt like it was her job)

I like the kissing ball idea better- I got one from my florist for My FG My florist is making the kissing ball out of all silk flowers so that it wont be heavy or wilt.

I said flowergirl basket but that is because I like the ideas of her putting petals down. But if you want a kissing ball, and are worried about it falling apart, you can make one. I made one with silk flowers and a styrofoam ball (directions are on DIY board).
how old is your flowergirl? this was the deciding factor for me... mine is only 2 and a kissing ball would have to either be really small or just look funny so we opted for a basket. kissing balls are beautiful but are usually on the larger size...

My one FG is 6, she is having a basket with petals.
The other FG is 2 1/2 and she is going to just have a single calla lillie with a small ribbon. I don't think she can handle much more.
I was thinking about kissing balls. They are really cute, but now you girls are making me think twice. I didn't know they fell apart in Humid weather.

Re: Poll: Flowergirl Basket or kissing ball?
i wanted a kissing ball but was talked out of it by my florist because my flower girl is really young (she'll be 2 1/2 when i get married) and it will be too heavy for her..i saw his reasoning so we're doing the basket

I would go with the basket if she's 6 and under...it's so cute to watch them walk down the aisle and toss petals....it's so precious.
