We had about 50% decline. But 90% of our guests were from OOT because we're aren't from LI. We ended up paying for 29 people that weren't there because of our minimum guarantee.

I have about 95% of my responses.... only 3 left.... That means our no % is between 15-18%, roughly. (Almost all of these are people overseas which we knew couldn't come....)

I'd also like to know if the no% rule of 20% is consistant in both SMALL and LARGE weddings...

I wonder if small weddings like ours, where immediate family makes up almost 1/2 the guest list would have a higher % acceptance rate than large weddings where more distant relatives and friends are included

thats a good point. we're inviting 250 people. mostly fh's family-128 people his mom insisted on inviting (and paying for ) all of her and husbands cousins and aunts and unles (fh's 2nd cousins and great aunts and uncles). while my family only makes up 50 people since we don't keep in touch with my 2nd cousins and great aunts and uncles. the the rest of the people are friends of fh and i.
so i'm thinking most of my family will say yes while the yes rate for rh's family will be lower since we're as not close to his second cousins and great aunts and uncles.

We got a few suprise yes replies when we were sure they'd say no So far we're at about an 8% no ratio but we still need a bunch of replies ::fingers crossed for a few more no's::

Ours was more like 30%...word of advice send out A&B list together! People knew that they were on the B list! We got some nasty letters that 'if they had known sooner they would have come' lovely right

We had less than 20%, it is probably closer to a 10% no response. We are actually having more people attend than we thought.
