POLL: For those who don't want to write something can you at least take the poll. Are there any other September 11th brides out there? I am thinking of changing the day! Do you think I am CRAZY?

Thanks girls, but as I said in an earlier post the other thing that bothers me is that so many things really didn't work out for that day to start with. First the band we originally wanted for the first date we chose before the 11th became available was booked. It had been booked almost 2 years in advance for the 11th (believe that one). We looked for 6 months for another band and had to settle for the 2nd choice. The other day my dj for my e-party told me my band doesn't read the crowd as well as the one we originally wanted. Now I am really more upset. Second, my priest originally would not marry us on the 11th bc he has a memorial service in the evening, so we had to fight him for that. I feel like I fought for the Sept 11 day when the other day, which is a Sunday there was no inconviences for except for the fact that it was a Sunday and ppl might leave early. Oh and we would have had a little less time for picts. i just feel like maybe its an omen NOT to get married on that day!

I didn't answer the poll because I don't think it's us who can answer your question. You need to look within and ask yourself if you and your FH are happy with this date and will be able to look back at your wedding day as a joyous occasion. You also need to look at your guest list and try to find out if any of your guests lost someone close to them on this date. That is definitely something you need to take into consideration because you don't want to cause people pain and suffering in association with your wedding day. I think that you shouldn't change the date unless you think it's the right decision for you. Personally, I would not mind attending a wedding on 9/11 but I can't speak for everybody else, especially those who lost people close to them. Again, JMO.

personally you should keep the date. I work in the publc safety sector and I responded to the towers on that day. yes no one expected what happen to happen, but unfortunately it did. no we should never forget, but we need to live our lives. should a pregnant woman hold off on the delivery of her baby because it will be born on the date that we will never forget. NO I DON'T THINK SO!!! i will never forget but i have to live my life. keep your date and start your life anew with your husband. i'm pretty sure my co-workers who died that day would want you to go on with your life, but always remember the tragic event that took place that day. PLEASE don't let the terrorist win!!

DO NOT CHANGE IT!!! Yes, it's a sad day & yes I lost an old friend. But, life does go on. Most people might prefer to do something happy on that day.

I voted for you to noght change it, HOWEVER, if you are considereing changing it because of the reasons other than the date (the planning reasons) then change it if it means having the right officiant marry you etc. HOWEVER (again) if you think you are over-emphasising the significance of these other things (not that it is not important, but I think you understand what I mean) and are sensitive just because you have issues with the date, then please reconsider & try to be objective.
Either way, as long as then end result is you & your FH making your lifelong commitment to one another, that is all that matters in the end.

DONT CHANGE THE DATE! Wake up, get ready, and get your butt to the alter on time, with a great big smile on your face . Your guest will understand that you did not choose that date out of spite, and they may even be grateful that they will have something joyous to celebrate on a day where we must remember, but not dwell. I can guarantee most people will be going about their day as if any other, with the possibility of stoppin to say a prayer, to attend a mass, or to stop at a cemetary, but you can help them by sayin a prayer and keepin the victims and their families in our hearts and prayers through a prayer at mass. Afterwards, go have fun at your party and make the best of your day!! There is not one day in life that should be wasted in complete sorrow! Things happen, such is life, appreciate and celebrate the time you do have! Good luck!

You have to do what you feel most comfortable and happy with. If the 11th is not sitting well with you for whatever reason, then change it.
But don't change it because of what others would do or think.
I got married on a Sunday evening, and while one or two couples left early, (one was pregnant and had morning sickness, and the other had to work at 4 a.m.), everyone else stayed to the end--which was midnight.
Best of luck with whatever you decide.

I lost someone in the world trade center. A wonderful father, brother, husband, firefighter with two small children. I personally feel that it would be great for wonderful things to happen on a day filled with so much sadness. New life must come from the tragedy where so much was lost. Its not a bad luck day, Its a day where some basterds took to much of our lives. I refuse to give them anymore. That's my opinion, and I know that it is biased, yet its how I feel. Things like what is happening to you happens in a lot of weddings that weren't planned on that day. Your just having some bumps in the road. Good luck in whatever you decide.

i would also keep it. i had my rehearsal dinner on sept 11 this year and i can honestly say that me and my family did not think about or mention the wtc and pentagon that day. which was a welcome thing for us. we enjoyed our little celebration and were excited about the wedding and for the first time in two years didn't sit in front of cnn on that day.
whenever someone doesn't want to do something on that day i think of my little cousin who was born sept 11, 2001 at 9:01am. so while everything horrendous was happening he was one little glimmer of hope and happiness. there should be more of those associated with that day, and maybe if we have enough of them we can start to ease the pain of that day. jmo of course.
