Re: Poll: Kids at the Wedding
We invited all the kids (just not the infants who were 2 years old & younger) ... which was a lot of kids!
And even with that, we still got grief from *some* people!
Why would someone want their 1 year old at a wedding??!!? A wedding that ends at 1:30 am?!?!!

No kids at ours, except my & DH's nephews & niece because they were in the BP...DH & i are not kid people...we did provide babysitters for the OOTers who had to travel with their kids.

Re: Poll: Kids at the Wedding
We said no kids and there are alot of kids on my side. My RB was supposed to be the only kid but my Uncle brought his daughter (who is 13) so that was ok.

Re: Poll: Kids at the Wedding
We had about a dozen at our wedding. They were b/w the ages of 1 and 9. For us, if we didn't allow kids, we would have had a much smaller return of yeses-- all but 5 people invited were from OOT.
We felt it was important to include even the littlest in our families. We had a goody bag for each of them with crafts and fun hats and other things to do. It kept them occupied and we got some incredible photos of them having fun.
To each their own, but we think our wedding was enhanced by having the children there.

No way! A wedding is an adult event. There will be a lot of partying going on and kids don't need tgo be around that.

Re: Poll: Kids at the Wedding
At first I was like no kids then I was like well me and FH only have like 5 kids in our family so I was like ok. So I voted yes but not if there are more kids then adults.

Re: Poll: Kids at the Wedding
We had about 7 or 8 kids at our wedding (under age 14). They were well-behaved and cute on the dance floor so it wasn't a problem.

Re: Poll: Kids at the Wedding
I have 285 people on my guest list...with no second cousins and no kids (well there is one family with children: 16, 14, 10, and 8). I dont want any crying babies and I could not do kids because the list would just ADD up (I have 20 first cousins...and most of them have kids...yikes!)

Re: Poll: Kids at the Wedding
We had kids but they were all old enough to take care of themselves (10 and over) and there were only like 5. If they had been any younger or if there were a lot of them, I do not think I would have invited them.

Re: Poll: Kids at the Wedding
We're inviting 2 kids...that's all the kids we know, so we're pretty lucky! They're also REALLY good kids and we know that their parents would whisk them away if they fussed. I also don't want to pay for chicken fingers for dinner (even though it's half price for kids, I still think it's too expensive for chicken fingers).

Re: Poll: Kids at the Wedding
For me, definitely: We're getting married outside in a garden in the afternoon, and there's plenty of room for the kids to run around and play. Plus, only 5 or 6 of my friends have kids and there are no kids in my family yet. So, it was an easy decision! If I were having a Saturday night wedding at a catering hall, the decision wouldn't have been so easy.
