The buffet offers more food overall....
It's a 430 - 830pm shower.... We were going for an elegant, but still a bit casual theme - candle centerpieces

i prefer a buffet bc its more of a relaxed setting and i like it better and you can try a little bit of everything.

IMO-i like buffet for shower, engagement party. i had a buffet for my engagement party and it just worked out really well.

I voted for sit down but i guess it's what you want. I'm a bigger fan of food that is made individual then buffet style but like u said then people can get up and mingle....i think the idea of a sit down is more classy...

i voted for a buffet. It just seems to make it more relaxed. I had a buffet for my engagement party and it worked out great.. plus people had more food to choose from which they seemed to enjoy.

I had a buffet (not my choice since it was a surprise shower) and there was an insane amount of food.
I'd vote for buffet- more casual.

Captain Bill's is so pretty...JMO but I prefer a sit down...i think it is just a preference...either way i am sure it will be great!!!

I voted sit-down. I always feel that things are more organized and flow smoother when people are asked to sit for certain courses. I think this leaves a big enough gap for 'your time' to open up gifts...at least you'll KNOW that people are done eating by then....JMO

I chose buffet....I think it's a little more casual and people can take as much or as little as they like of whatever they want....also, you're not as tied to the table which I like! But I'm sure whatever you chose will be lovely!

You can't go wrong with either at Captain Bill's. I was their with entire family on Sunday for brunch.
If you are going for the elegant evening them then go with the sit down, JMO.
But like I said you can't go wrong with either. All the food is going to be great!
