OK - so i've decided to get shawls to for my BMs. Now i cant get the shawls that match the material to the dress because they are just insanely expensive - and i do want to get the girls nice presents (they are $95 each! )

So... i've decided to get them 'pashminas.'
So which color do you think is best?

Just as a note - i do NOT want pictures with the shawls - i dont forsee them having to take pictures outside (only FH and I will - i would be mean to make them take pics outside in january). And even in the indoor pics - no shawls will be used.

Another option which i dont think i am too keen on is to get them all different colors that match the dress but that they personally like (since i am spending $45 on the shawls).

ETA: I chose apricot as an option because the girls will have various colored roses (peach, orange, camel) and mango colored callas.

I think a winter white or black would be the best! I just love a pashmina! I have a purple one from Italy.....it's fabulous!

first of all..i'd like to know when your wedding is. there are a few colors that will match nicely though i agree that the deeper shades of green are complimentary. i'm inclined however to suggest a deep burgundy if you are having the wedding around holiday season or a burnt orange if it's in november...c'mon girl...play off the theme of the season. also wanted to ask if you think the girls will use the pashmina's again. like i said...always a bridesmaid, never a bride...i've socked away some very nice and thoughtful gifts over the years...but most i've never used again. consider this before you go spending any money and maybe shop around a bit more...ask questions and give them something that has longevity.

I think that you should go for a deep couple. It would make a wonderful contrast. Not sure on the color yet. I will let you know

Wow that's some pallet of colors!!!

I would keep it simple, especially if you want them to use them afterwards...I would go with the buttermilk! It goes with anything!

I am thinking black- It will look elegant and they would be able to wear them with anything afterwards.

Here's an idea:

Buy a few colors that you like and compare them to the dress in person. See what looks better. Return the ones you don't like and buy more of the ones that work.

The other option is letting your BM choose the color.

I think the idea of a Pashmina is great! I would love to get one!

I think either the Sage, since it's closest to the dress color or the winter white

Unless the sage is exact match, I think black would be a better choice. Plus for the price, the girls would get more use out of black.

Georgia- I doubt any of the girls are going to wear them in the church or pictures, so if their main purpose is for warmth, I would go with black, which is the most practical color.

I like the idea of getting what they would like as well. Especially if they will not be wearing them in pictures. It would be a nice gift that maybe they do not even need to bring to the wedding.
