POLL: Queens GTG -- KEEP OR CANCEL

Hey guys:

Here's the deal, I'm a little confused by the poor RSVP rate I have gotten for our GTG tomorrow night. For those who had RSVP'ed saying that they wanted to come and then backed out, that's fine and thank you for letting me know -- you can't avoid things popping up at the last minute.

When I took a poll a while back about dates, places and who was coming, I had close to 20 people -- now I have 7 not including us. In particular, I have not heard from the following, who had said they were coming when I first sent out the invite:


Janwinterbridejoy and DH
Jan05Bride and DH (Maybe)
MrsKinMay05 and FH
regi and FH

Also, Jax had expressed interest, but I never got an RSVP.

So, see my question below in light of all this and let me know how we should proceed. Sorry if I am coming off harsh, but I don't want to waste my time or yours organizing something that people can't or don't want to attend

i hear ya, if its just gonna b us (a very small group) i dont mind rescheduleing for another time when more pple can make it.. the weather might b bad anyway, let us know..u can have the final say and dont worry about being harsh somebodys gotta take charge lol

thanks for understanding -- the weather doesn't concern me -- it's just when you have 21 people and you drop to 7....

Doesn't hurt to just go and BS at the bar. No need to get a table if its gonna be a real small group.

I definitely want to show and for more than a 1/2 hour. (I gotta cover for a co-worker on Saturday morning who's ill.)

So... if we did something on another night, I'd be for it to be totally honest.

Sounds like my extended family... we're always gonna have that huge family reunion.
but you know....

Like I said.. I would do my best to show.. but I think to be honest.. I would love another night so that I can sit there and be able to talk to you, Boosh and other people with more than just .. 'Hi. How are you?' and 'Nice to meet you. Bye'.

This is how I feel, I think maybe we should reschedule so that way we can meet everyone.

I'd hate it that you guys didn't get togehter, but you know my vote is to definitely RESCHEDULE so that me and DH can definitely make it next time

Hi just butting in to say, that a lot of the get to gethers seems to have a lot of interest but then not so many people when it actually happens. I think 7 is average. That's just what I picked up reading psots. I've never been to one.

Heather I've been meaning to FM you . HI how is your planning??!
Actually you are SO right about your statement.. its hard to coordinate things like this when the only day-to-day access we have with each other is generally over the computer

And for those like me (and you) GTGs are difficult because we live in Westchester not LI or Queens

Speaking of which how about a Westchester GTG?

We got married in a Greek Orthodox church.. the Greeks don't do vows like you are used to in other demoninations.. i.e., we don't say ANY VOWS and certainly not ones that include 'OBEY'
