Vinesse! There is already so much food at the CH!! You can never have enough dessert!

Plus its nice to leave that 'last impression' by the end of the night the seafood boat is forgotten about!

Oh and alot of people are late to the CH or miss it all together ( I know I usually do )

IMHO, it depends on your audience. If your family and friends are big seafood eaters, then the seafood boat is the way to go. If your family & friends are big dessert people, then viennese is the way to go. In my circle, the only big seafood eater is my mother, but with the exception of my diabetic brother, everyone loves their dessert. I personally would have skipped viennese but FH wanted it, so that's what we went with.

For me it would depend on how much food you are having at your CH already. If you already have some seafood then I would skip the boat. If you don't have a ton of food I would go with the boat.

Personally, I'm a dessert FREAK so I got the viennese (plus that includes the extra hour so you should figure that in as well)

If I werent having my reception in a temple that desnt serve seafood, I would have the seafood. Personally, I think Viennese takes away from the entertainment at the end of a party. I have seen more than a few weddings come to a close pre-maturely when the Viennese hour/table happens. As far as allergies go, there are just as many people who are lactose intolerant and allergic to chocolate as there are to seafood. We arent doing Viennese - not because it wasnt an option, but because we liked the idea of people being served a multitude of desserts at the table in white glove service - it was our choice.

I'm going to have both. We will be paying for the viennese hour my mom offered to pay for the seafood at the CH.

Just think... Not everyone loves seafood.. but everyone DOES LOVE DESSERT!!!!

For us it's the seafood. I want a good first impression - and that's best gained by the cocktail hour. Plus, I don't like how the vienesse hour basically brings the party to a screeching halt - right when everyone's preparing to dance the night away.

Definately Viennese...I feel that the CH is overloaded with so much food & choices that the seafood doesn't always go...There is never enough dessert, JMHO

base your decision on what you think your guests would rather have

DEF the seafood- gives such an elegant touch to the cocktail hour and although the viennesse hour is REALLY GREAT too at some places they dont add the time on to the wedding so then it takes up some dancing time...from what ia have seen at weddings i have gone too... but really both are great!

I agree! I think the viennese would be more greatly appreciated by guests.
