I just asked my fellow Greek Bride gNi1125, and she wasn't sure.. so I thought I'd poll the audience (its not really a poll).. help me girls!!!
I was talking to my sister in law tonight and she said that there is a reception place somewhere in Astoria on the water w/ an amazing view of Manhattan. Only problem is that she didn't know the name of it and she said she would try and contact the girl who had her wedding there. Anyway she said it was for smaller parties, and it was one of the best weddings she'd ever been too.
Do any of you have any idea what place this could be?

Re: Poll the audience....help me
The only one that i could think of is on long island city, and it's a restaurant called water's edge, is right next to the water.
There is another one on astoria, next to the bridge called Riccardos.

Re: Poll the audience....help me
I think you might be right. I have been trying to get the website for ricardo's and am having a hardtime locating it online.. can't find the homepage for it.... thanks for your help!
Hey Melissa...I'm not too sure if it's Riccardo's. Riccardo's is like 3 blocks from Astoria Park on 21st street. Hope you found what you're looking for.

Did you try this site? Here's the listing for Queens:
I know Irene, you're right, my search continues. I told my sis in law about the place and she said that name didn't sound familiar. I'll have her find out who it was.. the search continues.

Re: Poll the audience....help me
I work right here in Long Island City.
It's water's edge - it's nice. I don't really like the food, but beautiful. They have a boat that brings people from Manhattan to LIC...it's cool.

Re: Poll the audience....help me
I am actually thinking about having my reception there.. I went to speak with them over Easter Weekend, and I loved it. It takes a little imagination during the day time.. but at night.. the restaurant is beautiful. They do smaller (<100 people) receptions on Sunday nights only. I have some pics of the inside, as well as the view if anyone would like me to post them.

Here are some of the pictures I took inside the restaurant. The bar is beautiful.. and at night it has a very warm feel.. and its not so pinkish looking.

and.. this is the view from inside the restaurant...
Of course these were taken in the middle of winter.. in the summer the tress across the river will be green.. and they said they plan flowers in the planters out there.

Hey honeybee06.. you have FM!!
I did take the pictures myself, I wish I had some of the pics of the restaurant at night... but there were too many people in there at night.
After sending you the FM.. I am kind of annoyed at the price they are asking for this place... on a SUNDAY night!
Vegas is looking better and better to me

Re: Poll the audience....help me
They were SUPER expensive when I called to find out about a January wedding on a Sunday night! I hung up the phone and laughed. Someone I know got married there last year and friends told me that the food left a lot to be desired. If you are going to book, make sure you taste the food first... it better tast amazing for the price!
