My biggest problem so far has been the church. I was married as a teenager and now Iam having trouble with getting someone to contact me in regards to an anullment which will take 13months and the church I was planning to get married at wont set my date until the annullment comes through so the date could be gone by then and they also dont marry you on a monday which is when I booked my hall for. I found one catholic church who would make special arrangements for it but I have to be a member of their parishh for 6months first before they will set the date. So we were going to an Episcopal church but they wont even let me talk to the priest until they receive my marriage application back and they also wont even tell me whether they do marriage services on memorial day so I know whether or not Im wasting my time. This has turned out to be a very expensive problem. $1000 for the annullment on top of the donation for the church or changing the date which adds $5000 to my total bill plus the $1000 for the annullment and plus the donation for the church Everything else is a piece of cake.

The guest list!!!

Precisely! And I am expecting this will be superseded by the seating arrangements!!!!!!!!

totally agree

DON'T EVEN GET ME STARRRRRRRRTED!!! FMIL has already begun her comments about where SHE is 'putting' people.

Isn't this FH and I's decision? I mean, I know I can ask her for her HELP AND OPINIONS, but FH and I decide. She shouldn't 'put' people anywhere... right? or no?

Guest list.

I don't think I'm going to even know like 1/3 of the people at my wedding

So far, the most difficult thing has been getting my fiancee 'on board.' He's the perfect guy for me, don't get me wrong, but I like to get things DONE and he's more....of a meanderer? I'm not even sure if that's a word, but due to his work schedule its difficult to make appointments--he can't commit to dates too far ahead of time. So, I've been trying to work around him as much as possible, but there are certain things I NEED him for... and all those things are hanging over me.

Trying to decide how much I want to put towards the wedding (I am torn between having my 'dream wedding' and putting the $ towards a house!)

Plus I just started planning and the guest list is already a pain! I want to cut out tons of people and my FH want to invite everyone!

soo glad to hear the guest list was stressful for everybody else, too!!
my FH's family( aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) is from western hickville pennsylvania and don't have a lot of money, and we are having the wedding in NJ. so from the beginning his dad kept saying ' oh... no one from our family is gonna come... its too far and hotels are too expensive for them... ' blah blah... so i felt like i could book a smaller room that holds 150... well now since people know about it, they all decide they are coming and now we're stuck with inviting more people than can fit in the room AND it looks like most of them are coming... ARRRGHHH!!!! gotta love the in-laws!

dealing w/ parents. they have very strong opinions about what they think I should do and it has been very difficult to get them to respect my vision.
