We are only inviting people with guests if they are in a relationship. However, we do have a couple of friends who don't really no anyone else and aren't in a relationship - so they are being guested. Also we have 2 singles in the wedding party (FI's youngest sister and a cousin) and they are being guested.

i am not sure... if it was up to me it would be if you were in a relationship
but FH and family has people i know they are inviting with guests

i dont think there is a need for people without a significant other to bring a guest...there are just some people i guess you need to invite a guest with
i am stuck on this one.. i think as it comes closer and we have lists this is the place we will have to cut

everyone over 18 except a couple of older widows (our parents said not to, and they will have siblings & children there, invited separately)

We didn't have a big guest list though, so it wasn't a big deal. Its only about 14 single people anyway, most probably won't bring a guest.

I voted everyone gets a guest, but I have very few single people invited. No one under 18 gets a guest (only a few).

We invited everyone with a guest. We didn't have guests under 18 but we probably would have included a guest for them as well.

Our place was large and we didn't have space issues.

Can't afford it. Would rather invite people I know.

Sorry.

Since we already have a large list we want to try to limit it to people who are engaged/living together. My sister (MOH) who is not in a relationship, but if she is dating someone can bring someone. Maybe my cousin (BM) too.

My guest policy is basically

-- if I know your significant other and you've been dating over 6 months or have been to more than one family function with said S/O then you can bring a guest (I have to be careful because I have a bazillion young single cousins with boyfriends/girlfriends that change every week)

--Everyone from work gets a guest

--If you are a friend of the family/ours (not family in anyway) you get a guest (the logic being that you aren't really going to know anyone there)

Re-reading it now, I think I am being way too liberal but FH always gets mad when I say no guest for so-and-so.

my older crowd (people my age and FH's age and older) I am 28 he is 35, they alll got 'and guest'

However, my young cousins ... ranging in age from 15 to 23 only got 'and guest' if they were serious with someone.. and only 1 is.

I have three guys friends who defintely aren't dating anyone and are looking forward to going with just their other friends. I have one girlfriend who isn't dating anyone but always brings a very cool friend to weddings and parties so she's with a guest. I feel it should depend on the situation. Also I've been in a spot where I've been invited to weddings and didn't have anyone special and that wasn't that much fun

We only invited people with guests if they were engaged, living together, or if we were friends with both halves of the couple. There were a few exceptions made for those who don't know anyone else or those who would be travelling a long way by themselves.

Currently we have everyone over 18 with a guest but I think we're going to have to reevaluate because our list is growing out of control!

I really think that you should invite all single people with guests if you can afford too. Otherwise I would say only people in relationships. I wouldn't care if they were married, dating or living together.

I'll add that anyone who has a problem with that policy can choose not to come and I'll just invite one of the people on the B List!

If you can't afford guests, I dont really know what to say, but I think its tacky when adults are invited alone. I invited everyone with a guest, we had more people than we expected, but I have no regrets.
