just curious...and, have you spoken with her about it? I want my MOH to give a speech, but I'm not sure it is fair to ask her to do it at the reception (seems a bit intimidating to give a speech in front of 250 people)...was thinking of having her do it at the rehearsal dinner instead. thoughts?

My MOH actually gave 2 speeches- one was impromtu at the rehersal dinner. Otherwise, she gave her speech after the BM.

Our DJ suggested we try not to do speeches too many speeches at the reception, BM is giving speech there and I have to maids of honor, so rehersal dinner

I didn't want her to give one at all, but she assumed she was going to...so now I am in a dilemma of what to do.
I don't want to out right say no, that seems rude, but should I ask her to do it at the rehearsal?

I'm in the same boat as you! My FH and I spoke about it and he would rather her not do one at the reception (mainly because she lives out of town and she's only met my FH once). I'm thinking of saying that I want to limit the number of speeches given at the reception so she can do hers at the rehearsal dinner (if she's really adamant on giving one).

my sister didnt' give a MOH speech... shes just not into talking in front of people.... so i didn't even ask her... the best man gave a long enough one for both of them at the reception! LOL

My MOH is my little sister. She has a baby voice and when she is nervous, she speaks really fast. So she is not giving a speech.

I don't want my MOH to give a speech. I mean, she can if she wants, but I don't think she needs to. She's not a great public speaker and she's very emotional - so she'd probably end up crying through the whole thing.

My MOH is my sister. She will be giving a toast during dinner at the reception. She made me do it at her wedding, so it's pay back time.
Regardless, she is my only sibling. It just seems right.

We have 2 BM and 2 MOH- it'll either be BM, BM, MOH, MOH or BM, MOH, BM, MOH....if that makes sense!! I made one at my Matron of honor's wedding so she can do one at mine- if they really didn't want to I wouldn't force them...I think the bride deserves her honor person/people to toast her....we are just asking that they keep it short

We're not asking her to do one and I don't think she's complaining one bit!
