I was talking to a friend and now I am curious to know if anyone is paying for their own wedding gown or are your parents, FH, etc.. paying for it?? My friend had heard it was bad luck to pay for it yourself.. is this true??

I am paying for it...Well FH and I are paying for our wedding...(My mom was supposed to (she always used to say when I get married I am buying your wedding dress + all the accessories) but we are not speaking so I guess she changed her mind )

Well I was all ready to pay for it, but my mom insisted on paying for it... I was very very surprised... and what's great is that I was able to use the $ that I had budgeted for my gown to get a gym membership for the next year to get in shape for the wedding!

FH and I have lived together for 5 years, own a house and have 2 kids together. My money is his money and WE are paying for everything - including the dress!

I am. I was actually shocked that my mom didn't offer since she's offered to pay for so much and I've always said no. This I wouldn't have turned down. But oh well!

i bought my original wedding dress and while i don't believe in that superstition stuff...i gotta say we did have a lot of problems...
i got a new dress and my mom paid for it and so far...things have been good

My god mother (she is also my aunt) is paying for mine. She does not have any kids and we are very close. She bought my dress. She told me to pick up everything else (veil, Tiara, Bra, Slip, Shoes) and she will give me the money back on everything!!

My parents are paying for it. My mom wouldn't even let me buy my shoes, she wants to buy everything I have to wear from head to toe.
yeah me too - my mom and dad are paying for dress, undergarments, shoes, hair, makeup
i will be 100% a product of my parents on my wedding day
ok i guess that is true every day but you know what i mean!

I'm paying for the gown. My parents are paying for the reception and ceremony. FH and I are responsible for the photo, floral, HM, limo, dj etc. My is helping as well with other little nuances here and there
