I was talking to a friend and now I am curious to know if anyone is paying for their own wedding gown or are your parents, FH, etc.. paying for it?? My friend had heard it was bad luck to pay for it yourself.. is this true??

I'm buying the gown and bought my tiara, but my mom purchased my veil.
I am , my parents paid for the hall and me and DH paid for everything else

Bad luck to pay for it yourself?? I don't have anyone else to buy me a wedding gown. I guess now, I'll make F.H. buy it with his own $$

my mom is buying my wedding gown. My FH and I are paying for the rest of the wedding. My mom has also bought a house- not for us to own- but to live in one of the apartments for veryyy little rent. She also said she is going to give us a nice gift, but she wants to do it after we pay for the wedding. I guess she wants us to prove that we're really ready to get married and support ourselves.

Paid for it myself.. it didn't even cross my mind to ask someone else to pay for it since no one offered. As for it being bad luck, I'm not superstitious.

my parents are paying for the dress....I bought all of the accessories (tiara, necklace, earrings, veil, shoes).

I'm paying for mine with the money my grandmother left for me after she passed away. It's not a huge amount, but will pay for the dress and church donation.
