What does everyone do to make over $90,000? I feel like I do pretty well considering my age (25), but I wonder if the higher range are the people who have been working longer?

I was making $75,000 at a nonprofit. It's all about personality and luck ... being in the right place at the right time. That's my take.

How old were you when you got that? I was making over $60,000 on Wall Street straight from college, but that was blood money, and I wouldn't have had time to be online there. I took a cut to not commute anymore, and get a job I liked better.

For SONYMA (which my mortgage guy told me anyone 'low income' is eligible for), the highest income is $86,000 for combined or single applicants. It's insane, on the application in Buffalo is was like $35,000, and here on LI it is $86!!

before this fabulous president took office I was in the top bracket- and now, i'm in the 2nd to last...
so that's another reason why i want the bonehead out of the white house.

so combined, we're the highest of the lows.......

I know! I said while you're at it, give me my food stamps! But then since they calculated our salaries wrong we don't even get that, which was the only perk of being low income!!!

Dh is 27 & he is a technician for Toyota. He has tripled his salary since he started in 1997.

(I voted b4 I asked Valentinegirl if it was combined or not...and since I am not yet employed... that # was for DH only).

so take one gal off that list

Let's put it this way...if you're at 125% of the poverty level, you would be making $11,638 for one person. For 2, it's $15,613. You figure it out for 100% of the poverty level and the number is even lower.

It's not even close to $86,000.

Yeah, the SONYMA amount is what is considered 'low income,' not poverty.
