Trust me, that's not considered low income. It may be their guidelines, but it's not 'low income,' either. Scary, isn't it?

oh my... thats a lot of hours

I know...I work 6am-2pm everyday and can work til 7pm and every weekend if I choose to for overtime $. I usually stay 1 day til 7 and thats it.

Me too! How does that happen?

Answer to whoever asked what kind of jobs...when I first got out of law school (7 years ago) I was making great money but worked 6-7 days per week, from 8am until about 10 or 11pm every night - sometimes until 2am or 3am. So I quit that job for a job with a much lower salary, just so I could have a life. It's a trade off!

wow.... that's a lot of overtime that your co offers. That's good if you fall a little short from time to tme....or just to build up extra $$$

Its great. I can make 4x my salary if I choose to. I would be living here though. Its good every once in a while.

It is scary. I think it is based on what the average salary is in the geographic area--which is why LI was so much higher...As a state employee I would be making the same wherever in the state I worked, and it would be worth so much more so many other places!

I passed up a manager job here which pays $80k + cause its alot of hours and too stressful. I'd rather make less $.

I understand--that's why I quit my job on Wall Street--I am surprised that people are able to spend time online during the day with such high-paying jobs. I know my brother works in the DAs office and they can't even access the internet, and I just didn't have time on the trading floor. So, less $, more time for LIW...An even payoff

Tell me about it! We live in one of the most expensive areas of New York and the attorneys in my office and I are making the lowest amount of ANY non-profit in the state. That means that the attorneys at non-profits in North Bumblefuck by the Canadian border are making more than I am.

It really burns my butt!
