Poor FSD

Poor FSD

Today in the car waiting for the bus we were talking about my shower...and she said 'When I first heard about it I thought that people would be getting you, me and daddy presents, but then I found it its just you...that's not fair' and she had these little puppy dog eyes.

I told her it wasn't like I was getting things only I wanted...that its mostly things that will help us have a better life, like things to cook and clean with and plates and stuff. I told her she wasn't missing anything and she seemed to feel a little better.

I had bought a flowergirl jeweled decal to iron onto a shirt to have her wear the morning of the wedding to get ready in and was going to give it to her at the RD...but I think I will do it sooner and give it to my mom so I can give it to her at the shower...that way she doesn't feel so left out and she can feel like a part of everything. Good idea??

Awwww poor baby- she didnt realize what it was all about

i think thats a great idea-maybe you can have her help you open the gifts too

Yup.

As long as you have something else to give her at the RD or else it'll turn into the same thing. 'Mommy, why are you and Daddy giving everyone else gifts but not me!'

Great idea, maybe even get her a small gift that she can open at the shower too. And definitely what Adriana said, make sure she has something else to open at the RD.

She's not staying for the whole shower, just the first 20 min or so...partly because of this, but also because I don't think a shower is an appropriate place for a little girl (JMO, not attacking me plz!!)

We are also getting her a little fake pearl necklace/bracelet to wear the day of that we will give her at the RD, so she won't feel left out then either.

let her know that her time will come too eventually.

her time to have facking meltdowns about G-D fire departments THAT WON'T LET YOU HAVE FLIPPING BRUNCHES THERE BECAUSE THEY ARE TRAINING THEIR HALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.

(do you see this?)

I DON'T EVEN CARE I JUST WANT PIZZA ON MY WEDDING DAY AND I HATE PLANNING MY WEDDING. OFFICIALLY.

HATE HATE HATE IT.

(shower her this. copy and print it out. give it to her when she's in her 20s wanting her boyfriend to propose. i wish someone had for me.)

hmmmmmmm

do you guys give her something to open on yours or fh bday?

i know it can be hard for kids to understand or watch others opening gifts but they need to understand that not everything is going to be about them.

its not like youre leaving her out at the rd. you got her something super cute!!!

dont hate me.

god, im gonna be such a bad mommy.lol

LOL

I think it's sweet because I remember that when I was a kid, on my birthday I'd get a bunch of presents and my sister would get to open something small, and vice-versa.

You're not going to be a bad mommy...people just parent their kids differently. What worked for my sister and I isn't necessarily what works within other families
