Port Jefferson Country Club Lombardi's on the Sound
We are having our wedding at PJCC next June and I am having second thoughts. Can anyone help???????
1. How many people did you have in the room.
2. Did you have problems with the people at Lombardi's where you booked. I can't seem to get them to call me back and they are not very good about putting things in writing. They keep telling me that shouldn't be a problem, but to me that doesn't mean that I will get what was promised the day of my wedding.
3. Did people complain about the bathroom being downstairs
4. Were the attendants any good? I hear mixed things about the people that help you that day.
If you can answer any of these questions I would appreciate it because I have one month to back out without loosing my deposit.
5. Did they rush you out at the end.
6. Did they have a hotel that would work with you so guests could be shutte, led back and forth(that's what Villa L told me but the hotel said they did not do that and did not have a contract with PJCC)
Much thanks for any help or suggestions

Re: Port Jefferson Country Club Lombardi's on the Sound
I think I can answer some of your questions. I got married at PJCC last month and it was AMAZING!! I have not posted a review yet as I was waiting for my proofs but am thinknig I may do it anyway as I have some amateur pictures....I had absolutely no problems with them, and I had numerous requests--all of which they listened to. To answer your specific questions:1. I had 130 people in the room. I asked that the tables be spread a little further apart, my concern was the room may not look full but I was wrong it looked perfect.
2. I had no problems with them at all, I actually found them extremely helpful. In fact three days before the wedding I had a problem (my own fault) with table seating and they told me to come down, they would fix it and they did exactly that.
3. No one to my knowledge complained at all about this, in fact, I liked that people could go downstairs and they were not right outside the room. The room there is so beautiful, simple, yet very elegant looking. There is also an elevator for anyone that may need it.
4. Our maitre de (not sure of spelling) was great! I did not need or want anything that night. He was on top of everything. Unfortunately I do not remember his name. I will ask DH as he may remember and add it if he does. I even asked that some of the candles on the tables be lit as they blew out during reception and he made sure they were (I had candle tree centerpieces that really looked amazing)
5. I absolutely was not rushed out at the end. My family even lingered for a little while taking some of the flowers home. The bridesmaids collected items from the bridal suite and one of our guests was hanging around using the rest of our table cameras. I did not feel that way at all.
6. I used Holiday Inn Express, where some of my guests stayed .To my knowledge they provide a shuttle but we did not arrange it so I can't really comment on that.
I can honestly say without hesitation it was perfect. My guests raved about the food and many people that had been to PJCC before renovations could not believe how beautiful it was, felt like a different place. MAny told me it was an extremly elegant setting. I know everyone loves the place they get married (at least most end up saying that) so you need to love it yourself but my experience with them could not have been any better. If you have any specific questions please feel free to FM me. Here are a few pictures of just the PJCC, these are not from my wedding....I hope this helps!!
The pictures wil lnot post. I tried resizing but says they are too small!! You should post this on the other board, you may get more repsonses.

Re: Port Jefferson Country Club Lombardi's on the Sound
I have to ditto what ElleOct04 said. Yes I had some problems pre-wedding and did not feel I got the attention I wanted (see my review)....However day of I had not one complaint!!! Unfortunately I think some of the reason why they do not handhold from the beginning is that they believe so strongly in the 'reputation' that they know things will be great in the end (not that I agree with this way of dealing with clients).Anyway, they absolutely did not rush us out...we were there for over and hour cleaning afterwards and they helped us the entire time....I did not hear one complaint about the bathrooms being downstairs. Overall I had not one problem the day of....was extremely satisfied with the food, service, atmosphere and how my DH and I were treated as well as our guests. Raymond and Kristen were our attendants and were excellent!! My guests were floored at the quality of the food and elegance of the place...they kept asking us how we found it and afforded it

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express and they were a major problem for us because the shuttle bus we planned through them did not show up (again see my review). So if you are using them just triple check your shuttle bus!
