post cards with envelopes?

I really have my heart set on doing post card STDs and thank yous.. but should they have envelopes?? FH thinks so but I feel like it's not a real post card then because I really wanted to have the stamp and address on the post card but I guess that wouldn't make sense if I'm going to put in in an envelope? Is anyone else out there thinking of post cards and will you use envelopes? thanks!! I'm trying to price them out already :)

I don't think so. We want to do postcards for our STDs and I didn't even think about an envelope because the postcards have the space right there for an address and stamp. Check out weddingpaperdivas--that's where we got our e-party invites and they were really reasonable. I think they have a sale going on right now too.

We did a postcard, no envelope. I have not sent them out yet though. My sister designed them and ordered them. She sent one to me in the mail and when it arrived, there was a splotch on my face that she says was not there before she sent it. This made me VERY nervous-- I never considered the way they will get treated in the mail, bent corners, scratches, etc. But, FH and I decided we are still not going to do envelopes. We wanted postcards, we are going with postcards. Hopefully not many get messed up...its not the worst thing anyway. Just wanted to give you my honest story in case you didn't think of that either!

ya i figured they'd get a little torn but im also sure 85% of people arent holding onto the STD or sticking my face on their fridge for 8 months lol
