fh wants that song so bad- long story short fh and i grew up a block away from each other and were in 4th and 5th grade together- then once we got to hs we like never saw each other again- we both went to sachem so it was huge and we just ended up in different groups- ps we reconnected on facebook and he came over one night and we looked at old yearbooks and never left the house- i knew that night he was 'the one'

Part One by Band of Horses.

Despite our very traditional wedding this song is the complete opposite of classic/traditional/conventional. DH and I were friends/coworkers for a long time before we started dating and this song was on all the time when we first started dating. Its just us. We loved it as our first dance! Even though not many people recognized it there was so much emotion between us that we ended up getting a ton of compliments on it afterwards!

When we were dating I used to tell DH that I wanted a song for us...then I would start singing 'I Swear' to him. RIGHT before we got engaged I walked in from work and we was playing it from the computer and we danced around the living room. cheesy yes but it became our song...

History in the Making is our song also. It was going to be Dave Matthews You and Me but our friends picked it as their song last year and when we heard Darius' we knew it would be ours

we loved the fact that we had our very last 'first kiss' and last 'first date' with each other, and love that line in the song - not to mention the rest of the lyrics. :)

a lot of people aren't familiar with the song (i wasn't until my fiance played it for me one day)... needless to say, that was one of the first questions we asked our band when we hired them (they weren't familiar with it, either!)

My FH picked it also. He loved Hootie and the Blowfish and when he found out that Darius made a CD he went out and bought it and he loved the song. (all of them actually) He had the DJ on the boat cruise we were on when he proposed to me play it for our first dance as an engaged couple. Highly romantic.

It was the first time FH told me I love you at a billy joel concert in connecticut. We have seen billy 4 times since then!


Skinnamarink because i used to work with preschool children, I would sing the songs outside, and this one just stuck, its our secret way when were with our friends to tell eachother we love eachother without everyone gagging.
