I was looking into invitations over the weekend and on one site there was a review by a few people talking about the postage for certain types of invites. one person said it was like a dollar just to stamp one invite! and she had a lot of invites so it costs a ton of money just to mail them out!
These were for pocket fold invites btw.
Anyone hear of this or go through this? Please let me know.......
Thanks !!!!!!

Re: postage for invitations
Yes, that woman you heard that from is correct. I chose a pocketfold invitation and the postage needed to send each out is $1.28 not including the response card. Yikes

Re: postage for invitations
My invites were 1.05, but since they don't really make that - I put on 1.08. I've heard the square invitations are quite a bit more.
My local postal office tried to tell me that my invites were a parcel (because of the bow) and wanted me to pay 1.78 or something like that.
I went to the Williston Park office - closer to my parents home, and they went out and were recieved by my guests with 1.08 postage.

Re: postage for invitations
The shape, size and weight of your invitation all factor into how much postage it will require to mail. In general, odd shaped envelopes (i.e. - square or boxed invites) cost more to mail than rectangular ones.
My invite was a rectangular approx. 5x7 flat piece with 4 inserts all printed on pretty heavy stock but only cost the standard 61 cents to mail.

Re: postage for invitations
My invitations were 88 cents to mail plus we had to put 44 cents on the RSVP envelopes so it came to more than $1 to send each one. When FH went to the post office to get the invite weighed and buy the stamps he almost died!!!! Lol

Re: postage for invitations
my square pocketfolds were $1.08 plus the .44 RSVP.
needless to say, I spent $145 at the post office yesterday for 95 invitations. For that price the USPS should physically put them all on and stuff the envelopes as well.

Mine were $1.08 each to mail. I spent about $200 just on stamps. Ridiculous!! And I didn't even think mine were that heavy but it was off by like 1/8in in height!

Re: postage for invitations
Mine aren't pocket folds and I still paid $1.28 each plus the cost of the rsvp stamps. But I honestly love my invites so I didn't mind too much
