I was looking into invitations over the weekend and on one site there was a review by a few people talking about the postage for certain types of invites. one person said it was like a dollar just to stamp one invite! and she had a lot of invites so it costs a ton of money just to mail them out!
These were for pocket fold invites btw.
Anyone hear of this or go through this? Please let me know.......
Thanks !!!!!!

Re: postage for invitations
Yes- I paid $1.92 for stamps per invitations. But my invitations was tr fold with a very heavy brooch. Depends on what you want and how important it is to you. Invites are 1 of the most important things of a wedding-it sets the style and mood of your wedding.

My invitations were 88 cents to mail plus we had to put 44 cents on the RSVP envelopes so it came to more than $1 to send each one. When FH went to the post office to get the invite weighed and buy the stamps he almost died!!!! Lol
Did you take to the RVC post office? Did you get them hand-cancelled there?
FH actually works right next to a post office in Queens so he took them there on his lunch break.

What is RVC & Hand cancelled?
RVC = Rockville Centre (we both live there )
Hand cancelled means that they don't put your invitations through the machine, they do it by hand so they don't get bent, ripped, dirty etc.

Re: postage for invitations
our printer told us before hand that any square invites were more postage, we went with a standard invite and were about to use a regular forever stamp. it included inner env., RSVP and direction card

Re: postage for invitations
Mine were rectangle pocket folds with four inserts, one of which was a response POSTCARD. So my postage came to .95 per invite. The RSVP card only needed .29 instead of the regular .44

Re: postage for invitations
Oh, I'm heading to the Post Office today during my lunch break. My invitations are only 1 layer, on heavy card stock, so I'm hoping they're only going to be the 0.64 (and then 0.44 for the RSVP cards).
When you went to the Post Office, did they have the Wedding cake stamps there or did you have to order them online?

Hmmm, I didn;t have a response card, but my invites were pretty heavy, I paid $.84 domestically, $2,54 to Barbados, $2-something to London and like $15.50 to Canada, but again mine were pretty heavy *sigh*
