Posting Tributes to 9/11-Never Forget.

*Disclaimer* This thread includes prayer, whether it is to God, or any other God or higher being you may believe in. This is not pushing religious beliefs on anyone....all prayer, no matter what type, are invited and included. Talk of politics or anything else other than just sympathy and prayer, please have respect and use another thread**

As we go throughout our day today, it may be harder for some than others. I offer all my prayers to all my friends and family in New York on this day

On this thread, you can post a little praying icon, say a little something, whatever you want...but may we never forget. If you have someone in mind you want us to keep in our thoughts and prayers today, you can post a name, or post a pic, or post neither and ask us to keep you in our thoughts. This is just our own little thread for a moment of silence and rememberance. May we never forget and God Bless America.(or again, insert whoever you believe in)

Re: Posting Tributes to 9/11-Never Forget.

It feels like yesterday - A Day that I will never forget- A day when the world changed - I remember waking up in my naive world living happy only worrying about my next microbiology exam and becoming a doctor. I was happy for being on my own - my own apartment - my own bed - 100miles away from my parents and my pain in the butt brother - just far enough to feel independent. As I turned on my televison at 9:15am exactly on September 11th 2001, 30minutes following the intial attack- My world changed - My biggest worry now seemed so minute - and the 100 mile distance seemed like infinity. My pain in the *** brother was the one I most longed to hear from - knowing that he would have been down there and not knowing if he had already completed his deliveries. I still cry today thinking of all that I could have loss and all those that did. For my 12hours of not knowing seemed like an eternity and yet there are those who still live today without closure. I remember finally hearing from my family - hiding my emotions especially from my brother as I spoke to him on the phone and asked 'Are you Okay?' Not so much physically but emotionally - But he was not - no one was. For how could we be - WE ARE ALL HUMAN.
I send my prayers out to all the families, who were not as lucky as I was. I pray to all the hereoes of 9/11 - the firefighters the police officers, the paramedics, the civilians; whom all left their homes that morning as fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters but in the face of impending disaster acted as heroes. I pray that you all find peace. We will never forget this day -

I will never forget that day as I sat in my office just 2 blocks away. I was in my office as the towers fell, and never in my life have I been so terrified...not knowing what that roaring sound was the shook my office and made the lights blink. My mom screaming my name and banging her fists on the wall as she watched the towers cascade down...thinking that they were falling on my building (Dad told me of this). But the worst for me that day was the fact that FH was on a plane....flying from Israel, to Zurich and then onto LA. I feared his fate more than my own. We found out we were both ok around 4:30pm that day. And I remember praying that day...God, please let us live to love each other...let us at least get married before you take one of us away....and now here I sit 5 years later fulfilling that hope. That day taught me to love...and to live. And these terrorists only succeeded in strengthening my faith in God, my will to live, and my wish for freedom. God Bless America, and those who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom...continue to keep those serving safe...and may those affected by this murderous act be comforted and strengthened. And as for you Osama...I've got a roundhouse kick & elbow strike waiting here for you!

May the Lord always be with those who perished on 9/11. They will always hold a place in all of our hearts.

This day does not seem to ever get easier. It feels like yesterday. Every image is planted in my head and is played over and over especially on this 5th year anniversary. I will keep all of the victims and family on my mind today. Especially George Howard and Ronald Kirwin!! We miss you!!

I don't think any of us could ever forget the exact location we were in 5 years ago today. It is sad that we have to face something like this in our lives and have it brand our future. I would like to say a prayer and remember all of those who had to leave us so early due to disgusting circumstances. I pray for our nations future and that we may all one day find release from these tragedies. I pray for all you and your families, especially those who knew people that were lost and for families in general. I wish you all a day of peace and reflection.

I will never forget this day.. being the girlfriend of a fire fighter that day.. he's an ex now, my main concern the entire day was is he ok and not hearing from him until 9 pm that night was terrifying. He did make it out ok but will himself never be the same after what he saw and though we are not together anymore I still think of him the most this day and wonder how he is doing... To all those who lost someone and to all the families that were affected I share my prayers and rememberence and give hugs to everyone
