As we go throughout our day today, it may be harder for some than others. I offer all my prayers to all my friends and family in New York on this day
On this thread, you can post a little praying icon, say a little something, whatever you want...but may we never forget. If you have someone in mind you want us to keep in our thoughts and prayers today, you can post a name, or post a pic, or post neither and ask us to keep you in our thoughts. This is just our own little thread for a moment of silence and rememberance. May we never forget and God Bless America.(or again, insert whoever you believe in)

Re: Posting Tributes to 9/11-Never Forget.
Thanks so much for this topic! I remember 9/11 like it was yesterday. I was lucky to get out of there, I worked right across the street in the financial center. Our building shook when the planes hit. I've never been so scared in my life, not knowing if I would make it out of my building was the most terrifying experience of my life. As scared as I was and as horrible as it was I know I am one of the lucky ones to have gotten out. The moments of silence this morning chilled me to the bone and it was a long morning and I find myself bursting out into tears today just thinking back. It's so surreal.

May all those who were killed by this awful tragedy Rest in peace and may there familes find peace in knowing that they have personal angels watching over them.
I worked in City Hall and was two blocks from the WTC and was evacuated as the first tower fell, it is a day I will never forget and knew so many ppl. who were killed that day. Having been there I saw and felt the emotion and five years later, it still seems like just last month.
God Bless America and all our Families!!

Years have come and gone, Since the towers came down... Yet nothing is settled, No peace to be found.
Seems like the efforts, Made to this date, Cannot resolve, Our grief and our fate.
There are still questions there, With no answers yet found, Though grass replaces The rubble from the ground.
The grief that we feel, Is still fresh and so strong, Despite all the 'answers' For what really went wrong.
It seems that the mourning, Is greater today, That time does not heal, Nor make it go way.
911 was a wakeup, To a nation off guard, Grief is not easy, Forgiveness is hard.
So that each day now passes, With no end in sight, We remain in our mourning, Still sealed with that plight.
We pray for the peace, That only healing brings, Proudly tell the rest of the world, That Freedom still rings.

Re: Posting Tributes to 9/11-Never Forget.
This is the FDNY from last year marching with the 343 flags in honor of the 343 FDNY lost
As long as I live, I will never forget the moment I first heard of the attack...the fear and disbelief that ran thoughout my body...I was so far away from my family ( I was in Albany going to college at the time). I thought of my parents, my sister...all of whom were in Manhattan. May God keep us safe, and may we never forget those that gave their lives selflessly to save others, those who became victims of hate, and those who to this day fight to protect and maintain our freedom.

Re: Posting Tributes to 9/11-Never Forget.
This is the one day I allow myself to cry and cry and remember all of the feelings that I had on that day and the following weeks. I don't ever want to forget it. I want to be able to tell my children about the people who were lost and all of the heroes that stood up that day. I hope we can all do the same.

It still feels like this just happened - I still cry looking at the planes hitting. Just wanted to say I will never forget and I've been saying a prayer all day for those who passed and their families

Re: Posting Tributes to 9/11-Never Forget.
This morning as I watched them honor all those that perished I couldn't help but cry at the sheer thought of all those precious lives lost. I cried becuase there are people still hurting, people without husbands, wives, children, and friends. Thinking of all the birthdays, anniversaries that passed and the hurt and longing those people felt and still feel. My heart goes out to all of them. I pray that God (any God whether it's Buddah,Yahwe, Jehovah) that they are being watched over and they in return are watching over their loved ones who miss them so much. God bless the men and women who helped in the recovery efforts who are now ailing.
