postponing the wedding-updated! new date!!!

After long hard consideration, me and my fh have decided to postpone the wedding. I'm truly heartbroken by this decision but right now, it's what's best for our situation. We're hoping for the same weekend of 2010, so really only a years difference..which i can handle. It will give us some time to get an apartment and really save up to have the wedding we truly want to have. I really want to stick around for you guys but alas..will be moving my way to the 2010 boards. I wish you all lots of luck and happiness! Love, Ashley

i got a hold of my reception hall and our date is now May 29th 2010...so it's still memorial day weekend just a year later. And what's still scary...it's only a year and a half away..it's gonna flyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy now i just have to contact my other vendors and make sure they're still available..but on a good note..at least those deposits are done!

I'm sorry to hear that, but things happen for a reason and you need to do what you feel is best for you guys.

Just think of all the time you have now to plan! If my family wasn't down my back I prob would have waited also. Everything will work out fine! Good Luck!

I know you may be upset...but that is awesome because it gives you more time! I wish fh would let us postpone it another year, I am fearing that things won't get done before its time :(

i called my reception hall about changing the date..i'm waiting for them to call me back..we're going to be doing the same things...same vendors etc ( if available) so we won't lose any money...it'll give us extra time and we won't have as much to pay off as fast...it's scary pushing my life back a whole year ( i quit school to work and pay for the wedding) but it's better than ended up with a huge debt and getting divorced in 6 months b/c we felt rushed

I am sure that everything will work out for the best!! It is much smarter to wait and feel comfortable and financialy ready. Paying for a wedding is a huge amount of $$$.

Sorry to hear that - but you will probably realize that it was a great decision once you see all of the extra time that you will have to save. And you can do it all at your own pace without having to rush or go into debt. Everything happens for a reason
