I know there have been times when I wondered the same. I'd post something general like, 'I ordered my BM dresses' and I'd only get one congrats. Some people post the same and have 3 pages of hugs.
That is soooo true! I've seen that!!! I've always wondered that too!

i'm not 'jumping' on her. but i find it odd that she starts this thread and doesn't respond to what anyone is saying. now this thread is getting a lot of action, while others are not....
Please don't misunderstand - this post was not intended for one person (you), it was meant for all of us that are questioning her post. But, you're right, she should respond so we can understand if our responses are making any sense. But, I don't think this post is getting a lot of action - 20 responses and it's been up for almost a full day - that's not much, which proves her point.

i didn't take it personally, just responding for myself. maybe 20 posts isn't that much, i just think that she should be responding to her own thread. no worries, its all good

Re: posts
I really don't like the fact that people don't feel comfortable enough to post things that they may feel are not 'PC' or 'great' under their own name.
If there's anything I would change about this site it would be that...why can't people be more honest?!
Too much fake crap.

remember, not everyone is on their computer all the time so maybe she posted it and is doing something else and hasn't seen the responses

I think, for the most part, we are all pretty comfortable. But, there is always the reminder that sometimes we should keep things more anonymous - we've seen some crazy things happen as a result of unwelcome crazies lurking on the boards and manipulating our information. Sad, but unfortunately you never know who's out there and who will take things the wrong way.

i'm just saying its silly to start a thread under a different name questioning the posting habits of others

I don't think that's true. I have seen countless posts were brides are repeatedly told 'that's great', 'oh, so beautiful', 'great job' for things they are planning on doing when in all honesty the people responding wouldn't have that at their wedding. But I think I'm in the minority when it comes to honesty.
And about the post...the lurking thing is really more of a concern if you post personal info - not for a general vent about non-responses to posts.

FYI-the original poster can not respond. The account was deactivated. If people create a second profile to ask personal questions we can totally understand. But if the intent is to cause drama, stir the pot or to bash someone then the account will be deactivated.

That's true - but I guess they are just trying to be nice. Personally, if I'm not into someone's dress or idea, or whatever it may be, I don't respond because I wouldn't want to knock anyone's personal style.

You're right, and there's something to be said about kindness. But, what I mean is not if someone is showing a particular item already purchased (at which point you can't do anything but congratulate because it's too late and obviously the person loved it enough to get it) but rather when opinions are asked of things they're thinking about getting. If the decision hasn't been made and it's something you feel would not go over well or can be found cheaper/better/quicker elsewhere and you hold that knowledge, why respond with ' '...or 'great'...that to me is not what this should be all about. Being polite is one thing, being fake another.
But I guess not everyone is the same and I have to understand that.

Re: posts
Right, I understand what you're saying. In some cases though, I think the ' ' or 'great' is not about the post at all, some ladies are just looking to increase the number of posts.

Wow! So does that mean that she can't post under her 'real' name either?
