Today started ok but as i drove home my dad called and told me to pick him up, my grandpa is in the hospital. He was having problems breathing and pains so they went to their doctor at NYU. Long story short..The doctor suspects possible heart valve problems which requires surgery. But he could only need a stint. We have to see after some more tests tomorrow. I was soooo upset but i am trying to be solid for my grandmother.. Prayers please...

Both my Dad and FH's dad have serious heart problems and congestive heart failure. FH's dad has had everything under the sun done to him, so if you need any recommendations for docs on LI feel free to FM me. My dad had a stent put in as well as a pacemaker/defibulator last year and he's like a new man .. so there is lots of hope for his prognosis

To add....my uncle had two heart attacks over the summer, congestive heart failure and tons of valve blockage, two days before Christmas they told us he may not make it till the NEW YEAR and was not even strong enough for open heart surgery WELL.... he was put on serious meds...quit smoking, lost 50 lbs , on a serious diet and now he no longer( less then 6-8 mnths later) needs surgery at all, and improves daily.....SO, PLEASE dont be scared, these days things are nto as scary as they once were!! There is so much info on heart disease , the dr's are skilled...trust in them!

both my parents had heart surgery -- my dad was in the hospital fairly recently for heart trouble, so i know how this feels.
