Re: Pre-Cana

We just did the diocese one where it's more of a sit-and-listen with a few activities (as opposed to the ones the parish run where it's a few weeknights and you have to go to host couple's house and do things like role-play). It was 2 saturdays, 9-4, and they gave us breakfast and lunch. The first session was great, we heard from these funny psychologists about how to fight and how to communicate. THey did the natural planning video but we definitely were NOT preached about it. The second day was a little more boring; we heard about the challenges of blending families, spirituality, had time to review FOCCUS results, and then a mass to end it. All in all though, it wasn't terrible and like I said, I did like the first day!

Each church is different in the amount of hours. Some churches do it during the week for a few weeks, so it really depends.

We did ours at the church in CT since we live here now. It was only one Sunday for 6 hours, we got off really easy. It wasn't as bad as we expected, even FH said that. There is some valuable information but also repetitive information. I would recommend getting it over in one weekend, I think thats the best way.

I might be wierd but I actually like it... I have fun there and everyone in my group is so nice. I guess it is a total of 14 hours. It's not so bad.

We are doing our in the diocese of Rockville Centre, there was one initial meeting for 2 hours, where we also completed the questions for FOCCUS, which is another requirement. We then have 4 evenings we need to meet with the married couple for 2 hours each time. There is then a final mandatory mass at the end of the seven week process. I didn't think it was so bad, we actually kind of enjoyed it :)

i am really dreading it too! its hard for us to do it on the weekend b/c FH works on the weekends.

I guess when we meet with the priest on the 17th we will find out what we need to do.
I am sure some of it is useful info but I still I am dreading it..LOL
