Pre-Cana---HELP!!!
I live in BK, but I plan on having a church wedding in Suffolk county. I noticed that most churches offer pre-cana on a random week night for 6 weeks around 7pm or 8pm. My problem is that FH could NEVER make these meetings every week unless we took off every of work...which is a little unrealistic. Has anyone done their pre-cana at a church that wasn't the one they're getting married at, or online? I'm just trying to see what my options are.

Most do weekends, not week days. Contact your church or the diocese of Rockville centre for the calendar

Check of the Dioceses website. They give you options of weekend classes in your area. We are doing a full weekend in March. We went that route since FH work schedule is crazy. It is definitely more expensive this way but at least you will be able to pick the dates that work for you.

We did Pre-Cana at St Dominic's in Oyster Bay (we are getting married there) and it was 3 consecutive Sundays with an hour mass (5pm) each time then 6-8 in Pre-Cana. We didn't have to go for 6 weeks.. Just 3 Sunday's. We got engaged in May and did Pre-Cana in September and have completed it already.

This, a Friday evening and all day Saturday. I think you can do Pre-Cana in a different parish without a problem.

this!!!!!
this is my husbands old parish - msgr liscante is amazinggggg. and yes, it was a one day affair - and cheaper than any other parish we found. the diocease parishes were alot more money. and i believe our lady of lourdes has no problem with non-parishioners.
