Preganant bridesmaid ?

Original post by PUPADOLCE

One of my bridesmaid just found out she is two months pregnant. She will be six months for my wedding. I didn't want any pregnant woman in my wedding. What are your thoughts on this? I don't think the groomsmen will be comfortable walking in with a six month pregnant woman. Do I tell her it's okay to not be in my wedding or should I let it be?

LOL you wouldn't have wanted to dance with my brother? As for the original question, yes, I think it is extremely selfish to not want any pregnant women in your BP. If she decides she wants to step down, that's her decision, but if I were her and you asked me to step down that would end the friendship right there. Put things in perspective a little.

Well, as nice as your brother is, it would've been akward, to say the least. Thanks for not making me dance with anybody

Please don't let me dance with your brother!

I think some girls are missing the point and making me out to me a little immature. Maybe I didn't explain myself correctly.

I DO want my friend in my wedding. That is why I asked her. I don't want her to feel like she has to be in the wedding, if she doesn't want to. I actually don't want her to suffer the day of the wedding, It will be hot, and she will have to walk alot for pictures at the park. I'll let her be the judge. Thanks for all the advise. I appreciate it.

Don't worry - the same thing happened to me when I had a pregnant BM and I didn't know what to do. Some people are so quick to judge. The reasons I took issue with keeping her in the BP had to do with her own comfort (she was going to be over 8 mos preggo) and other more delicate family issues. But it NEVER had anything to do with the way she would look in pictures. I don't know why people even assume that's the reason.

Anyway, I know where you're coming from. My BM and I reached a mutual agreement that it would be best if she was not in it. But I did miss her being in the BP that day... alot. Just talk to her and find out how she feels about it...

Now that I am PG, I know that I would not want to be in a wedding anytime after 3 months. That's me though.

I guess it was just that you said 'I didn't want any pregnant woman in my wedding.' and 'I don't think the groomsmen will be comfortable walking in with a six month pregnant woman.' Honestly, if it was one of my best friends I would have no problem asking them if they think they will be up to it. But let her know you want her there, not make it like you don't want her anymore because she is pregnant. My SIL will be 6 months pregnant at her own ceremony and I think it makes women even more beautiful. And to be honest, pictures took an hour, ceremony even less.

I think the reason you were misunderstood is that you said 'I didn't want any pregnant women in my wedding.' It didn't sound like you were concerned for her comfort. However, since that is the case. I think you should just ask her how she feels about it. If she's still comfortable with the idea of being a BM, then you should keep her in. The GMs will deal. That first dance between BMs and GMs is never particularly comfortable anyhow.

I'm not crazy about the idea myself, but what can you do?

I would talk to her and see how she feels about it...fell it out and take it from there.

If it's about her comfort, let her decide.

If it's about anything else, I am completely missing what the problem is. Who cares if she's pregnant? She'll be glowing! Plenty of women are active right up until delivering, I don't think walking down an aisle will stress her body out... I can't understand why a guy would be uncomfortable dancing with someone who is pregnant. I'm missing that, but then again, guys are weird.

If you want her there, have her there. Period.

one of my BM's called me up a few months back to tell me that she was preg..she would have been about 6 months at the time of the wedding --she was asking me if i still wanted her in it --i told her of course --i could tell she felt a little uncomfortable being in it though...in the end i was going to let her decide...unfortunately she lost the baby and i am glad i didn't ask someone else to take her place...

i dont think it is a big deal. my matron of honor will be pregnant...VERY pregnant. dont stress..give her the option of backing out if you want but i dont think it is necessary.
