Preserving your bouquet

What is everyone doing, if anything to preserve your bridal bouquet?

Re: Preserving your bouquet

Im going to ask my photographer to take a still life of it and maybe take a few petals from it. I don't like how preserved bouquets look and they are way too expensive to warrant.

Re: Preserving your bouquet

I sprayed my flowers with hairspray and hung it upside down in my room. There's no way I'm spending a lot of money to save my flowers when I can do it myself!

Re: Preserving your bouquet

I'm thinking of having it preserved in a shadow box with a copy of my invitation. I saw it in a bridal magazine and it looked BEAUTIFUL. Sounded like the best way to be able to preserve it and display it at the same time. If you want more info, I'll try to locate it again.

Re: Preserving your bouquet

Paiz,

I want to do the same thing. I priced it and its on the expensive side, $400 or so. I'm going to see if I can find someplace cheaper.

Re: Preserving your bouquet

I'm going to buy a mirrored back display case and put the flowers inside with the invitation and other small items that reminded me of my day...

Re: Preserving your bouquet

I think you need to do something to the bouquet BEFORE just placing it inside a shadow box. They use something to make it look fresh.

Re: Preserving your bouquet

I know I am supposed to be on my HM but since the hotel offers free internet access and I just came in from a booze cruise I said let me check in on my girls.

I sent my bo-k to www.keepsakefloral.com I put way too much work in to it then to see it just go away I want it to be with me in my bag of memories. My photogrpaher took pix of it, but I wanted it anyway.

I hope you all are well

See you all when I return

Mrs Shamma

Re: Preserving your bouquet

I would love to do some sort of preserving, but everytime I look into it, I am totally discouraged by the price! They start at like $300!! Do you any of you creative ladies out there know how we can make a homemade version. After you dry them, is there something you have put over the flowers--so they don't dry up and fall off?

Re: Preserving your bouquet

Karen,

WOW - $400 - I had no idea. I have to decide if that's worth it - if I have the extra $$ - I may just do it - It really looked nice in the ad.

What Aug402 suggests sounds like an excellent alternative, I'd just be afraid I'd screw it up!
