Just thought I'd ask for a favor, it may be to personal to ask. I was trying to get an idea what everyone was paying per head for their reception to show/prove my point to FH about the cost. Thanks ladies!!
We're getting married on a Saturday night and the price per head is $70 plus 8.625% sales tax and a 17.7% service fee. All calculated out is comes to $91 a head.

We are paying about $126 per person after tax and service charges for a Friday night.
I don't think what you were quoted is bad. I actually think that price is an excellent price for a Saturday night.

we paid $160.00 pp with tax and grat. Saturday evening... with lots of extras....seafood boat, upgraded hord., champ. and strawberries upon arrival, sushi bar...

We're paying $87.00 and then the tax and 18% gratuity....I think it comes out to like $112-ish per person?

After taxes, gratuity, ect. it comes to around $100 per person. Thats for a Sunday evening in June.

i am definitely on the lower end of things.... $52 per head for a SAtuday afternoon... probably close to $68.00 per person after we factor in tax and tip.

That price you were quoted is OUTSTANDING for a Saturday night... i didn't think any place was less than $100pp for a saturday night! wow that great!
We're paying a lot more... $165pp + tax + 20% gratuity & that is for a Friday night.

We are paying $60 a head then 1.50 per person for maitre d then 18% gratuity roughly $80 per head after all is said and done.

That's a great price for a Saturday night! Is it off season? We're paying $63 a head for a Sunday afternoon in June--plus tax and 18% gratiuity, I forget what it comes to--and I think we're getting a good deal!
Can I ask you guys a question, though? The 18% gratuity--who gets that? I was under the impression that we should tip the maitre'd on the day. Our catering manager said at the end of the meeting that we could tip the servers, bartender, etc., as much as we liked on the day, but it's totally optional. Uh, yeah, I think it's optional if they're already getting 18% out of me! Are they? I was a bit flabbergasted by that, but figured I'd ask the knowledgeable people--you guys--later.
