Re: price shopping - bm dresses
I'm in the process of searching around for the best bridesmaid dress prices myself. I had found a place online in Mamaroneck called The Bridal Shop, and they had a great price for the Forever Yours bridesmaid dress I was interested in. I had printed it out and brought it to Macy's where I bought my wedding dress and asked if they'd price match. They told me they would price match it. Unfortunately, I went back a month later with my bridal party, and it turns out Macy's no longer carries the dress I like!
I had found a very similiar Bill Levkoff dress that Macy's does carry. So I was searching around to see if I could find a cheaper price and then get Macy's to price match. Some of the girls on here helped me out and gave me the info for Bridal Elegance in Dix Hills. Their website is gownfind.com, and they had a great price for the Bill Levkoff dress. I was leaning towards printing out that info to bring to Macy's to price match.
Then I checked out one last store for the Forever Yours Dress - Jessica's Bridal in New Hyde Park. The price seemed reasonable, but it was higher than the Forever Yours dress from the Brial Shop and the Bill Levkoff price I was finding from Bridal Elegance/gownfind. I told the woman I have a large bridal party (12 girls), so I asked if there was anything they could do for the price. Then she said they could probably give me 10% off. It brings the price down to what the Bridal Shop was charging for their dresses, so I think I'm going to use Jessica's Bridal. Just have to go over more stuff before I totally commit.
So definitely do research on here, and then talk to whatever place you plan to use to see what they can do for you - like price matching, taking a percentage off, etc.
