Priest vs. couple living together

Priest vs. couple living together

FH & I made the call in to the church and are waiting for the priest to call us back to schedule an appt to meet with him (YAY!). For those of you brides out there that live with you FH, did the priest give you any flack about your living situation?
For some reason I'm really nervous about that topic coming up in our first meeting

I was nervous too... my priest was really funny though...

He looked at my address on my form and his addresses on his form and he was like...

'Oh... so you guys live really close to one another...'

HEHEHHEHE

we met last week and s going over stuff when he took outr addresses he was like are two at the same place and then he put down the same address

but maybe he didnt care czuse it was so close to the wedding

i was so nervous about this but he didn't even react to it- i gave my address then he asked FI what his was and he said the same and that was it- he said nothing, what a relief!

i was nervous about that too but he didn't bat an eye when we told him our address was the same, i think they are used to it now

we were so nervous... the whole way to our first meeting with him we deliberated over whether or not we would fib and say we stay in 2 seperate bedrooms. we resolved not to lie to the priest (trying to start off the marriage on the right foot ) and after all the discussion, he never even asked. he just took down the addresses, no questions asked!

i know my brother put down my parents address and his wife put down their apartment - i dont think they would say anything but i know personally i would feel funny!

Ok...this might sound bad but.....we didn't tell the priest that we lived together! We were too afraid
If you are nervous about that....wait til he asks you if you two are realated! I am serious!

My priest didnt come out & ask us if we lived 2 gether , just asked for our address & fh gave his old address, yes we lied, ,, not the worst thing in the world, I was told that sometimes the priest wont marry u if u live 2gether , sooooo,, by the wedding it will be diff story ,,

Some chruch's are more strict than others. We made the msitake of telling him we lived at the same address and he was not happy - we even got 'Why R u wasting my time'. If I had to do it again I would have gave 2 separate addresses.

I actually put my mom's address down (even though we live together) bc I just did not want to deal with the 'church politics'.

FH and I dont live together - but I have friends that do and they listed separate addresses because they know people that the priest refused to let marry in the church bc they lived together.

Technically they arent supposed to - but the catholic church needs to get with the times!

I put down my parents address and he put down his parents address. I need to use my parents address because if not, we'd be out of parish.

I wouldn't say we got flack, but our priest did comment on it. When he took our addresses and noted that we lived together he said 'You understand that the church is against this, right?' And then went on to tell us that 70% of couples that live together before they get married end in divorce versus the national average of 52%. But that was about it. No refusal to marry us, no lecture, and we're getting married at St. Joe's in Babylon which is SUPER old school.

I know a couple that lived together that got married in St. Pat's and as far as I know they didn't have a problem.

See, we're screwed then because I gave the receptionist over at the church our home # which says 'you've reach Aaron & Kim...' And they'll most likely call when we're not home. I'm just being paranoid... I need to stop. AHHH!!!

I dont think they will notice what it says on the answering machine.. so you cna still give 2 separate addresses. Plus Aaron cause always be a realtive of yours
