I had to walk my daughter over to a casket with her fellow classmate in it. He was 10 yrs old. I cant describe the feeling. I was devastated. He was such a good kid, and lost his battle with cancer after a year. I sat and held my daughter soo long, just happy shes with me everyday. These past three days have been so hard.

That is so sad and I'm so sorry that you and your daughter had to experience such sadness. Children are resilient and are capable of handling tragedy so much better than adults. They try to see the happiness and not the sadness, whereas, adults immediately see the sadness.

My heart goes out to that family. Cancer at any age is terrible but to have to watch it take your child is unbearable.

that is soo sad.. i remember goin to my fisrt baby funeral..the girl was only 6 months old and dies of SIDS. it was the worst thing ever to experience being it was an open casket.. My heart goes out to the famly.. :(

Nothing prepares you to see a tiny little casket. And it's the worst thing in the world. I had a cousin who passed at 3 and a half and it was awful. I still think about him every day.

U guys are right...my daughter did see the good in it. She said, mom..he was in pain, he isnt anymore. I started crying, thinking about how selfish i was to not even think of that right away. I only saw the loss for him, the loss of life he didnt get to have, the loss for the parents. Our kids got to see their friend dimish over the last year, and at the end it was very hard to see him that way. I know cynthia wanted him to feel better whichever way that came. Heere i go again...i havent stop crying in days! ok...stop the waterworks! lol
