I had to walk my daughter over to a casket with her fellow classmate in it. He was 10 yrs old. I cant describe the feeling. I was devastated. He was such a good kid, and lost his battle with cancer after a year. I sat and held my daughter soo long, just happy shes with me everyday. These past three days have been so hard.

That is such a heartbreaking story. It makes you really reevaluate what's important in life. My heart goes out to his family.

It's truly heartbreaking for everyone. It's amazing that your daughter was able to see that the ony bright spot in this is that he is no longer suffering. You must be a really good mom to have such an empathetic, caring and sensitive daughter. You should be very proud of her.
Prayers go out to your family and of course, Chris' family and friends that they find the strength to make it through this horrible, difficult time.

I posted in 2010 about my Dad's passing. He had pancreatic cancer. He was 82. Even though that isn't OLD OLD, hearing about a CHILD with cancer is even sadder.
