Problem with my BBQ, QUESTION.....

Last summer Fh and I purchased a new BBQ, it was great the first season, and into the early spring. However, I went to go lite it up today when there was a break in the rain, and it did not want to lite up. It sounded like the gas was coming up, but it just did not want to catch and ignite. My question is , how do you know if you are low on gas for a gas grill or do you think a spider could have built a little home somewhere in the line? Or can the ignite switch be broken? How do you know? The gas has not been refilled since we got it last season. HELP!

I think if you tap on the tank you can see if it is filled, maybe I am wrong though. Also bring the tank to home depot or where ever they fill them up, and they can tell you if it needs to be refilled.

I never play with a gas tank. I take it straight to the store.

Those ignition switches don't last to long either. My DH had to replace ours last summer and now it doesn't work again. It did work all last summer though. Did you try to light it with matches?? I have to do it that way now. I turn it on and then throw the matches from about 10 feet away...I am such a chicken. Not the safest way!!

I would also say to take the tank off and bring it to be filled...if it is full then I would think maybe the ignition switch is broken.

Dh says the same thing. Those electronic ignitions never last! With every BBQ we've had, they always die after the first season! We always have to light ours with those long lighters!

Does your switch have a battery? If so check that first, then the tank. Take a look at the part that the flame comes out of, check for blockage.

unscrew it
if its light, you need gas, usually we never know till it suddenly poofs out while grilling and that is why we got a spare one
