Program questions for Church & doing a unity candle
Where does the unity candle fit into the ceremony??
Everytime I look at examples online, it seems to be in a different place.

Officiants each do it a little bit differently - ours and others I have been in attendance for had the moms light the tapers after the opening prayer, and bride and groom lit the pillar after rings were exchanged which was just before the Prayer of the Faithful and closing prayer.

Our priest said it comes after the Blessing and Exchange of Rings and before the Prayer of the Faithful

This is where I have always seen it done. But its true that depending on your church, there could be a different tradition. Since the unity candle isn't part of the actual rite and really is a custom, theoretically you can move it around.

Thanks ladies! I think Ill just throw mine in the program somewhere around the rings.. noone will notice if its not exactly correct, right??
