I'm getting married by a judge in a non religious ceremony.
I love the ideas of programs, but I'm at a loss as to what to put in them!
I'm only having a matron of honor and best man, so I can't even load up one side with people's names.
Does anyone have any samples of programs from a non-religious ceremony/wedding?
Thanks

Re: Program text for non-religious ceremony
What about it not being two sided? print it on hockey tix? just kidding. you can name the wedding party, even if it is small. you can say thank you to parents, friends, etc. are you haaving a guest book attendant? or favor attendant? what about printing your menu in it as well?
On the second page where it names the host, wedding coordinator, attendants, photographer.... you can include these things underneath where you name your bridal party on the first page. You also don't need a religious ceremony to have information to write in a program. My ceremony is going to be non-religious and we are still having readings and we are going to do the 'Hand Ceremony'. The order of events can still be written out...
Make sure to include some or all of the following elements:* Note to Guests * Wedding Date * Order of service * Music Performed * Thank You for attending * Names/relationship of bridal party * Other party members (guestbook attendants, musicians, etc.) * Place of ceremony * If flash pictures are allowed * Special Readings * Introduction of family * Appropriate poem * Officiant's Name * Couple's New Address * Direction to Reception
You can also include 'In Memory Of...' and write names of deceased and include a poem for them.

Thanks.. I saw some of those links. I'm not into posting all my vendor names in my program.
If they were providing their services in exchange for me advertising them in my program, then sure.... but otherwise...

I also don't think you should post vendors names on your program...only those 'vendors' involved in the ceremony, such as musicians and officiant. I was just saying that the example I posted could be made into one page if they had a small bridal party. I do believe that you can put officiant, musicians, and people's names who have special jobs in your wedding (not necessarily bridal party) underneath the bridal party names. I am talking about a guestbook attendant, bell ringers, bridal attendant, reader...whatever you may have.

I'm in the same boat but we wanted something to be able to include a memorial poem for FH's parents.

Re: Program text for non-religious ceremony
I'm building a sample one now, and surprisingly, i'm not having as much of a difficult time as I thought.
I picked out the program I like when I saw invitations, and I picked the smallest program ever because I knew I would have problems filling it. It's a small trifold, and the text area over the whole thing is 7.5 inches by 5.25 inches. (not counting the cover) By the time I threw in margins, it's actually not that big (yay!)
I put in our names, location, date, time. A quote from Shakespeare, and then I made up parts of the ceremony:
Processional Welcome and Introduction The Exchange of Vows The Exchange of Rings The Rose Ceremony Declaration of Marriage Recessional
And then on the second page put my fathers name, his mothers name, his grandmothers name, BM & MOH names, Officiant, and then a thank you blurb.
I guess I'm lucky that his families names are quite long, therefore force me to goto another line! LOL
