PSA: Bridal Suite of Bayshore

I went to the Bridal Suite of Bayshore over the weekend. The saleslady I was working with was awesome! BUT, there was a bride there who was picking up her gown. She was supposed to get it altered elsewhere I believe but she was just trying it on before she took it. The dress came in over 5 inches too short!

Now, apparently it was the manufacturer's fault that happened, however, the seamstress came out to deal with the situation and I could NOT believe the way this woman was speaking to this bride! The bride was upset but she was not nasty at all and this woman was a total b itch. I could not believe that the owner would allow one of her staff to treat a bride in this manner. It was horrible. My friend and I were just watching this whole situation go down and we felt so bad for this bride. The seamstress was treating her like she was pond scum. I decided right then and there I would not be purchasing my dress through them b/c I was not going to deal with this woman for alterations.

So just be aware of that before going to deal with alterations. No bride should be disrespected like that.

OH boy I orderd my dress through them too and am waiting for it to come in. Thanks for the info.

P.S girls don't freak out because I have heard horror stories from many bridal places and things turned out fine for the bride so everything will be fine.

that is exactly why i took my gown elsewhere for alterations.

i know that plenty of girls have good experiences there, but their seamstress is very rude, and i didn't like the way she spoke to me when i tried on my gown for my first fitting. BS told me they had the right bra for my gown, and turned out they didn't. the seamstress came out and was like
'You don't have the right bra, i can't do anything for you' and was very nasty and short with me, and just walked away. no telling me what's wrong with the bra, no saying what type of bra to get, no suggestions as to where else i could possibly get the bra.

sales people were great BEFORE i ordered my gown. afterwards, they were crappy. that's why my gown is being altered by phyllis from bridal elegance

ditto.. for me too,, but YOU DONT have to have it altered there you can go else whers,,

Dont freak girls. Every place has horror stories. I used them a few times as a BM and again when I got married. I got my dress, 2 FG's and 5 BM's. Everything was perfect and my MOH had lost over 100 pounds from ordering the dress to the wedding day and they fixed her dress with no problems at all.
I highly recommend them and I am a pretty tough critic.

I think everyone has different experiences everywhere....

We ordered everything there for my sister's wedding and everything turned out great. They had to alter my sister's lace dress (which isn't an easy task) & it was was seamless work...all the bridesmaids got alterations there as well and had no problems. But that was my experience with them...hope this calms the nerves a little for some people who ordered from there.

ETA: one of the girls ended up being pregnant and her dress worked out fine as well

Okay now that I'm having a min heartache I wanted to ask you... since you went elsewhere, are you paying more for your alterations? Someone told me if you do that there is no cap. I was wondering if that was indeed true? Thanks for any info. I'm just nervous now about getting my alterations done at BS.

I think everyone has different experiences everywhere....

We ordered everything there for my sister's wedding and everything turned out great. They had to alter my sister's lace dress (which isn't an easy task) & it was was seamless work...all the bridesmaids got alterations there as well and had no problems. But that was my experience with them...hope this calms the nerves a little for some people who ordered from there.
