Hey - I figured I'd throw this one out there - does anyone know of any PT weekend jobs available?
As much as I don't want to do it, I think I need to make some extra $$ for the wedding!
Thanks in advance!

Re: PT Weekend Job?
I've been thinking about this a lot lately too - I bet a lot of department stores will be hiring extra holiday help.

You could try a retail store. Most of them are hiring for the holidays.

I was just going to say this...every retail store out there is looking for seasonal help right about now.
Just depends how much you like your soul...because working retail during the holidays will **** it right out.

Bath and Body Works is hiring for the holidays. Don't know where you live but the one at Tanger Outlets in Deer Park is hiring.

Sigh...I like my soul, but I realize that I probably will need to bite the retail bullet! :(
I was hoping there'd be a fun job like answering the phone or light bookkeeping or something! LOL!

My everyday job is answering phones and light bookkeeping and I guarantee there's nothing 'fun' about it. LOL! Anyway, my fall back whenever I need a PT job is a bagel store by my house. They always need extra help in the morning on the weekends.

LOL - well it's fun for me b/c my normal job is life draining accountant for an investment fund where I work like 12+ hours a day! So some light bookkeeping would be a piece of cake at this point! oh well, I'll have to practice folding sweaters!

I've been thinking of anything to avoid retail - I was thinking about dog walking / nanny on the weekends? Or waitressing one night a week or something . . . FH says the time I'll spend doing any of these things won't be worth the $. Good thing I just got my Master's degree. . . to be a part time dog walker. ugh.

Re: PT Weekend Job?
I applied to macys for a seaonsal job but never heard back . I think they like to hire people who are out of work all together bc I know someone who applied who wasn't working and got a call the next day.

Re: PT Weekend Job?
That definitely might make sense, b/c someone who's out of work has open availability as opposed to someone who wants it only PT.
But it still totally *****!

Re: PT Weekend Job?
I drive a limo. You need a TLC ( Taxi & Limousine Commission) license. It's a bit of a pain in the a$$ to get, well worth it once you have it. You need to go to consumer affiars to get the application. You need to take a drug test, get a mug shot & get fingerprinted. Once you pass the backround check you get your license. It costs a couple hundred bucks, you'll make that back your first night out driving. Last Saturday night I made $400.00. It seems to me as a female I get better tips than the guys. The week before I drove a bachelor party in NYC. I came home with $600.00. If you have your TLC & a clean license, limo companys have work. It's well worth looking into.

I'm sorry, I know it's not funny and it s*cks! FH keeps telling me the same thing about getting a part time job. I think I'd just feel better if I made the effort to get a 2nd job. I don't make as much as he does and I want to contribute equally but I'm struggling to keep pace and now with the holidays around the corner. I wouldn't mind waitressing, at least you'd get good tips- hopefully!

It's funny because every time I bring something like this up FH says, 'I'll pay you $30 an hour to stay home and clean!'
LOL

my FH says the same exact thing! I so want to have an extra income tho, but FH said no and that I have a job and should concentrate on that. have an MBA too, so I guess what our FHs say makes sense, tho it would be nice to have some extra $$

Holy cow!! That sounds like something totally up my alley. I love driving in general and serve as a taxi to all my non-car holding friends! But is it SAFE? I am worried about getting mugged or something..I hear cabbies in NYC getting guns pointed at them, robbed, etc and I get a little nervous about going this route.

Re: PT Weekend Job?
A NYC Cabby & A limo driver are two totaly different gigs. Cabbys have no idea who they are picking up. Limo drivers working for limo companies know their clients. You have in your car. You have to pick them up at their house & drop them off later. It's safe.

Re: PT Weekend Job?
Look on Craigslist. I found a receptionist job that was Saturdays only for a Real Estate company. And it pays double what retail would pay.
