Pualine question... Hair & Make-up...

My wedding isn't until next August, but I wanted to find out if she was still available for my date, and when I should set up an appointment for a trial. I left her a message the other day, but she hasn't called back? Whenever I try to call again, it's her answering machine. I don't want to leave another message, she'll think I'm a pain in the butt. Does anyone know how long it takes before she calls back??? Does she always call everyone back? I wanted to call her again, also because I'm in North Carolina, and some people won't call out of state. Any ideas???

No, I'm not using her. She was available on my wedding day, too. I just can't afford it! My trial, hopefully the only one I'll need, is at Salon Menage in August. Good luck!

I have a trial with Pauline in August

Melissa, I have an appointment with Pauline. she`s $275 for the day, and she charges $90 for any one additional that she does hair and makeup for. If you have someone who wants just their hair done, or just their makeup done its $50. A friend of mine used her and was really happy with the results. Has she called you yet? It took her over a week to call me. Hang in there!

No, she hasn't called me back yet. I left her another message last night. I don't want to bother her, so I'm just going to wait for her to call me. How far in advance did you set up an appointment with her? I just hope she calls, and is available on my date which is August 16, 2002. It's more than a year away, so I'm hoping. I think you`re gonna have plenty of time. I didn`t read the date of your wedding the first time around. You have over a year. I called her a month ago and I`m getting married October 13, 2001. I think your chances of her being available are really good! She works A LOT on weekends, and when i spoke to her she said she calls EVERYONE back. I had called her twice cause i couldn`t remember if i gave her my area code, and she brought that up when she finally did call. I think she said she usaually calls on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. So just make sure if you don`t have a double line that it`s open on those days. I think she`ll call you, hang in there. Are you making an appointment with anyone else?

At this point no. I've heard so many great things about her that I want to at least get a trial with her. I've heard good things about the airbrushed makeup too, but it is more expensive and she doesn't stay with you until the first dance. I really like that since I'm not really a makeup and hair person in case something gets messed up. Pauline will definitely come in handy for that. I want an updo hairstyle and natural looking makeup. She does that right? Do you have anymore appointments?

No, i didn`t make any other appointments. I like that Pauline stays with you for all the pictures too. Yes, she does do make up that looks natural. My friend that used her has very curley hair, and she made it look soft and silky. I like that she does both hair and make up as well. She even helped my girlfriend get into her dress, she`s more of an assistant, which i like so my brides maids don`t have to be fussing over me. I think I probably should make another appointment, but I dont` know of anyone else that does hair and makeup and comes to you. That`s the other big thing. I`m getting married at 12 noon. I don`t want to be up at 6 am driving around to people. I have no idea how i want my hair. It`s very long and straight, so i`m hoping she`s creative. Where are you having your reception?

Yeah, I don't know of anyone else that does hair and makeup either. It's only one or the other. I don't want to have to be driving around either. I have long straight, but thin hair. I want an updo with maybe the curls coming down in the front/side of my face. I did that for my prom and it looked great. My reception is at the Port Jefferson Country Club. Where's yours?

My ceremony and reception will be at Windows on the Lake. The updo sounds nice! I don`t have bangs and think if i have my hair all up i have to have something down like wispy things at the temple like you were saying... I don`t know why a hair style is so hard for me to pick, I picked a photographer faster! Did you buy your veil and head piece yet? I`m going next weekend with my MOH.

I know that place. My fiance used to live close to there. And we always played handball by the lake. It's a nice place. I don't have bangs either so that's why I think that would look nice. No I didn't even get a dress yet. I'm going to start looking this October. Probably around the time you get married. We have a while yet until our wedding so I'm still not sure when to start doing what. :)
