PULL CHARMS FOR THE CAKE FOR BM'S

I HAVE SEEN THEM ALL OVER THE PLACE BUT HAVE NOT BEEN TO A SHOWER OR WEDDING THAT ANYONE HAS USED THEM.. IS ANYONE USING THEM OR HAVE SEEN IT DONE..

Pull charms are a southern tradition. They are small silver charms representing Love, children etc..and are tied to a pretty ribbon. They are baked into a cake with the ribbons hanging out. Each BM then pulls a charm. The charm represents her future such as next to have a baby or get married. It is a very nice thing.

I don't the the charms are 'baked' into the wedding cake. I am pretty certain that they are just placed between the layers when the cake is assembled.

I'm going to do this. I got the charms off of ebay and I am going to have them put into a cake and have the girls pull them at the rehersal dinner. I did't think everyone at our reception would be interested in this so I wanted to do it with just our smaller group...but we all live so far apart that this was the only other time that we could do it.
I would have liked to have been able to do it at a bridal party lunch or something but I think this way will work out just as well.
