Girls I am trying to plan a family vayca to the Dominican Republic. My parents own a timeshare so I have a list of resorts to choose from, and chances are we probably wont leave the resort once we get there.
But my question is where should we stay?
PUNTA CANA or PUERTO PLATA????

definitly punta cana! its on the caribbean sea, unlike puerto plata which faces the atlantic ocean, so the water is bluer. its more 'caribbean' to me. plus all the resorts offer SO much to do. its absolutley gorgeous. my family has been to punta cana twice now, the past two years, and can not wait to go back. it was probably one of the best vacations we have ever been on! if you need any help just ask me, or need to know of any resorts since youre doing a timeshare let me know! id love to help if i can!

yes punta cana is on the south side, which is the caribean side so the water is calmer and bluer... much niceer beaches too, not as metro

defenitly punta cana... punta cana is much 'newer' than puerto plata and the beach is cleaner.

Punta Cana,,,,the water in Puerto Plata is the Atlantic Ocean, not as nice

Definitely Punta Cana! Puerto Plata is nice too. DR is beautiful in general, so you'd love it regardless of which part you go to.

i've heard lots of great things about Punta Cana, although I've never been. I've never heard of anyone I know going to Puerto Plata!

punta cana is amazing!!! we went there a few years ago... one of the most beautiful beaches i have seen in the area.

Punta Cana is by far the most beautiful of the two. Been to both adore Punta Cana!

Punta Cana for sure... check out Secrets Excellence. It's an all inclusive, great for a honeymoon. Romantic and on a prestine stretch of beach!
