So we've decided that we would rather have our RD at a home rather than at a restaurant. We'd like to have an intimate, personal dinner and having it at a restaurant is just too complicated! lol Since our new house in in shambles, my parents have offered up their house which is soooo great bc it's down the block from our church.
Here's the dilema... the groom's parents should traditionally pay for the RD, right?? I feel so weird asking FH's mother (she's unmarried) to pay since it will be at my parent's house. What would you girls do in this situation? Would you ask her??

Has she already offered to pay for the RH. If not... then I wouldn't ask her. If she wants to offer should would have already.

this seems like a good way to go about it. if they dont feel like they should pay since its at your parents house ask if they would like to get the cake or favors etc

If she hasnt offered maybe she doesn't have the funds. I know of a great caterer with delicious food and not expensive at all.
