lately i see us venting and complaing about money
it seems all we do is safe for our special day.
which brings me to the qotd..........

is there anything that you refuse to give up or feel you need to do to keep your sanity?


i decided that we need our friday night happy hour!!! i dont care where it is!! it could be mulcahys, chilis, chi, as long as we can have a couple of cocktails and some apps for no more than $30. i know this makes fh very happy!! he works so much and so hard. he deserves that one night out.

I refuse to give up renting movies (we spend a $1 on each rental about 2-3 times a week). And also I refuse to not go out at all. We have to have a date once a month, where we just go to a nice restaurant (or diner if we want that awesome weekend brunch thing).
We both will go insane if we dont do that!
Oh and also I refuse to be too stingy on food shopping. There is no need to go hungry or not enjoy our food experience at home just b/c of the wedding.

for myself, I will NOT give up getting a manicure every saturday. I work really hard all week and feel that I can treat myself for $6.....and that 3 minute shoulder massage they give me while I dry is worth it also!!!! All I do is save save save but I don't think the $6 will kill me!

For me and FH, we still go out to dinner once a week....we don't live together and we don't see each other every day so we feel that we deserve to atleast treat ourselves to dinner (usually fri or sat).....doesn't have to be expensive because we do wind up at Chilis, Circles in Brooklyn, Pizzeria, etc....some nights we kind of go a little more out than others but we def don't want to give up that once a week night out!!!

FH and I have one date night a week. Lately he's been helping his brother fix up the house that he bought and he's not home for dinner anyway. Usually this would mean ordering out or just going out to eat. I'm kinda happy this is the way it is because A) we save money B) it makes it easier to stick to my quest to lose weight.

Having only one day off of the wagon makes it easier for me to keep my sanity.

Oh I'm also a memeber of Massage Envy. I WILL NOT GIVE UP MY ONCE A MONTH MASSAGE. It automatically gets charged to my credit card, so I figure I might as well use it.

We did join Planet Fitness...have we gone yet???

congrats on your dress coming in.

i refuse to give up on my Soy Chai Latte from Starbucks. i only get it a couple times a week but when i get it i feel so good. it makes all the stress go away.

i also refuse to give up getting my eyebrows waxed. since i have to go every week i could be saving an extra $32 a month but then i would look really scary with a super single eyebrow.


FH refuses to give up going out to eat 2 times a month. we save for those special nights by not buying breakfast & lunch out anymore.

I refuse to give up FH and my Saturday morning breakfasts at the diner. I love going out for breakfast.

I refuse to give up getting my hair and nails done every 3 weeks. I feel ugly when I dont dont treat myself and I refuse to go with doing it. Also I am WestIndian and I love carnival and although going to Trinidad for Carnival is costing me a pretty penny I am determined to go because I look forward to it every year and I really love going with my friends. Sometimes you just need to do what makes you happy and Carnival keeps me alive...lol

Pedicures, and getting a new top once in a while. I love shopping and have cut it in half so once in a while I need to... Oh and wine.. I'll never give that up

date night...fh and i have a date night every week or every two weeks (whenever we can fit it in!)...its really important to just have a nice quiet night to ourselves and a few drinks!

For myself, I refuse to give up bi monthly mani, pedi & eyebrows. I also have either a facial or massage 1x a month. I havent given up shopping but def double check myself b/f buying. I always ask myself, 'Do you REALLY need to have that?' Lately its no b/c I would MUCH rather have uplighting than a few articles of clothing and shoes!

FH & I have def cut back our entertainment spending but will not give it up totally. FH is FDNY & a volly, he works so hard & I really want him to enjoy himself when we do go out...I am usually DD

We haven't really given up anything....buuut then again we haven't even been out anywhere together in like a month.

We should probably start saving more, as of right now we have nooooo $$ to pay for the honeymoon
